Spooky Sweets Bundle & the Tip of the Week

Spooky Sweets BundleToday I want to share with you the third bundle that you can find in the Toil & Trouble Suite in the Holiday Catalog.  The Spooky Sweets Bundle.  I think this bundle is my favorite…I have a thing for bats….fake, not the real ones!  I was pretty excited to see a new bat punch in the Holiday Catalog when it came out.  Stampin’ Up! hasn’t had one for a while.

Spooky Sweets.0918Here is a cute and fun card that I made using this bundle.  I could have punched the bats out of regular Basic Black cardstock but they are SO much cuter in foil!  Don’t you love the designer paper?  You can see all the products that I used on the card below.  Just click on an image and it will take you directly to my online store!

Are you ready for the Tip of the Week?  I’m probably not the first person to discover this but I did figure this out on my own.  🙂

When punching out the bats (or any image) from the Black (or any color) Foil Sheets have the foil side facing the top of your punch.  If, like me, you use your punches upside down so that you can see exactly where/what you’re punching you will want to be looking at the back side of the foil sheet.  You will get cleaner edges on your punched images.  You can see a comparison of the two different methods in the last picture.

World Card Making Day & the Holiday Catalog

10.01.18_SHAREABLE_WCMD_NAHave you heard that it’s World Card Making Day on Saturday?  It is, and Stampin’ Up! is celebrating all week!  With a sale!  Woo Hoo!  A sale!

From the title of this post you may think that the items included in the sale are from the Holiday Catalog, but they’re not.  However….the products included in the sale will definitely help you make your projects using products from the Holiday Catalog.  There are card kits, stamp sets, 12″ x 12″ cardstock, note cards & envelopes and adhesive!  To see all of these sale items just click here or go to the link you find at the top of this page.

This week we’ve been talking about the Toil & Trouble Suite from the Holiday Catalog and all things Halloween.  Watch this fun, short video featuring products from the Holiday Catalog.  Be sure to watch until the end so you can see the Toil & Trouble Suite!

Yesterday I talked about my favorite product from this suite, the Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon (147897 $8.50) and how versatile it is.  I’m excited to try it out on a birthday or some kind of celebration card.

Takeout Thinlits.2Another versatile product from this suite is the Takeout Treats Bundle (W-#149989 $56.50 C-#149990 $49.50).  It’s perfect for Halloween and Halloween treats but if you take a look at the bundle you see that it already includes Takeout1stamps and framelits for other holidays as well as general uses.  I’m excited to give this bundle a try.  In fact I just ordered it yesterday!  Do you have it on your wish list or order yet?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Witches, Cauldron’s, Brooms & Cats

What is Halloween without a witch and all of her accessories.  Most witches will have a cauldron, a broom a black cat and of course a hat!

d4a0fe612edc7a4d9b5749c5cd3dd30fYou can find all of these spooky items in Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog Toil & Trouble Suite with the Cauldron Bubble Bundle.  Besides fun line art images you can color the bundle also contains framelits to cut these shapes out.

Isn’t this card adorable?  I can’t take credit for it.  I found it on Pinterest.  Thank you Stesha Bloodhart!  I love that Stesha added the Black 3/8″ Organdy Ribbon to her card since it has to be my favorite item in the Toil & Trouble Suite.  It’s a sheer black ribbon with silver glitter in it.  It sparkles!  What’s not to love?!  🙂

Are you going to be adding this fun ribbon (#147897 $8.50) to your next order?  You should!  When you do place your order you’re going to want to place online in my store and be sure to use the October Hostess Code so that you can get your FREE gift from me!

Color Your Season

07.01.18_SHAREABLE2_COLOR_YOUR_SEASON_USWho doesn’t LOVE versatile products?!  That’s what Stampin’ Up! has come out with for the month of August.  There is a stamp set, coordinating framelits and a new package of watercolor pencils!  These three products are only available during the month of July while supplies last.

The stamp set is SO versatile!  You can make Christmas projects with it, fall projects, summer projects and spring projects!  Not only are all four seasons covered but there are sentiments for many different occasions too!  And that’s just the stamp set!

Stitched Seasons Framelits.0818The framelits are fabulous!  Not only will they cut out some of the stamped images but there are 3 different sizes of double-stitched labels!  These are definitely my favorite part of the whole bundle.  Not only does the shape you die cut have the stitching around it but so does the area you cut out!

Here is a quick video highlighting these fabulous products.  Remember….they are only available through August 31st or while supplies last, whichever comes first!  Don’t miss out!  Order yours TODAY!

Oh….and don’t forget that you can earn BONUS DAY COUPONS with your order!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Make it Mine Monday: Hanging Garden

Make it Mine Monday is here again.  See where I’ve gotten my inspiration and how I’ve made the original card all mine.

Hanging Garden.1.0818When I first saw the Night of Navy Gingham Ribbon on the original card I knew I had to make a similar card.  I love gingham and plaids.  The color combination of Daffodil Delight and Night of Navy also caught my eye and I couldn’t wait to give this card a go.

I tried coloring the hanging basket with my Stampin’ Blends but I had much better luck with my Stampin’ Write Markers.  You can’t go wrong when you use the Stitched Shape Framelits.

Check out the Daffodil Delight label I used to highlight my hanging basket.  Can you see the stitching around the edge of that too?  This label framelit is from the Stitched Seasons Framelits which are only available during the month of August.  You can check them out in my online store along with the coordinating stamp set and a new set of watercolor pencils.  These Colorful Season products are a limited time offering only available while supplies last during the month of August.

719b647aa5d92ad858abe947eb97337eThis is the card that inspired me.  Can you see how it caught my eye?  Can you see how I kept the basic layout the same just changed it enough to make it mine.  Thank you Raquelle for the inspiration.

Have a great day.  Take care.  Go out and get inspired!

Fun Friday with Animal Outing

Animal Outing.0718This stamp set is TSC!  Too Stinkin’ Cute!  The animals are so adorable!  There’s also a rhinoceros and a kangaroo with a koala bear in her pouch.  I’m not sure which critter I like best?  How about you?  You can check them all out here.

Can you tell that the stamp set has COORDINATING framelits, the Animal Friends Thinlits.  There is also COORDINATING Designer Series Paper, Animal Expedition.  COORDINATION!  Woo Hoo!  You can find this whole suite of products on page 26 & 27 of the Stampin’ Up! Catalog. The whole suite is awesome!  (Just to clarify, the designer paper used on this card is from the Share What You Love Specialty Designer Paper, not the Animal Expedition Designer Paper)

This would be a fun card for any occasion.  What occasion would you use this card for?  Leave a comment and let me know!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Make It Mine Monday: Pocket Cards

Hello!  It’s time to bring back an old blog segment.  Make It Mine Monday.  I am going to show you how I take someone else’s design and make it my own.  Sometimes it will be just a little change like today and sometimes it will be a big change but I will always change something to make it my own.  I hope you like it!

From the title of today’s post you are thinking that I am going to show you how to make a card with a little pocket to place a sentiment or something in.  Well, you’re close….I am going to show you a couple of cards with an actually pocket on them.  Ok…a paper pocket made using the hidden gem of a stamp set “Pocketful of Sunshine”.

Pocketful of Sunshine.0718This sleeper of a stamp set has been sitting on my shelf and I think I’ve only used it once before.  As I was scouring the shelves for inspiration for my classes this week I knew I had to give it another try.

I got the idea for this cute card from Rachel Tessman on Pinterest.   I actually stayed pretty close to her original card.  I just added a colored layer to the front.

There’s actually not anything in the pocket of this card but it looks like the sunglasses are hanging out of the pocket.  Pretty darn cute.  What you can’t see from the picture is that I used my Wink of Stella Glitter Pen on the lenses of the glasses to add a little sparkle/reflection.

Today is Son #1’s birthday and I needed to make a card for him last week and pop it in the mail. What to make for him?  Hmmm….

Jared and his wife are non-skating officials with the LA roller derby team.  They used to do this in Sacramento too.  The gals in Sacramento gave him the knickname Pocket Rocket because he’s an aerospace engineer.  (Engineer’s used to wear pocket protectors in the pockets on their shirts and he’s a rocket scientist).  Anyway, it’s such a cute name and when I saw the pocket card I had just designed I knew exactly what card I wanted to send him.  So…

pocket rocketI made him this adorable card with a rocket in the pocket!  🙂

I know, sometimes I’m pretty clever.  Ha!  I simply downloaded a picture of a rocket, sized it to fit in the pocket, printed it and cut it out.  I sure hope he likes it!  Happy Birthday Bud!

Can you see how easy it is to start with someone else’s design and make it your own?  Now it’s your turn.  I’d love to see your Make It Mine design!  Please share!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Tropical Escape With Designer Paper

I love Stampin’ Up!’s Designer Series Papers.  They come out with such beautiful patterns!  I want them all.  I could probably be classified as a designer paper hoarder.  I always order more than I need “because I don’t want to run out”.  Sheesh!

Tropical Chic1.0718One of my favorite packages of designer paper this year is the Tropical Escape pack.  (Oh, who am I kidding….they’re all my favorite!).  It makes you want to hop on an airplane and go on vacation!

We’re making this card next week in class.  Since there are so many great patterns in this pack of paper there will be different color/pattern combinations for my customers to choose from.  This card is pretty easy to make.  The hardest part for me was choosing the pattern of designer paper and the color combinations to go with it.

The die cut piece from the Tropical Thinlits makes the perfect focal point for this card.  And guess what?  There is no stamping on this card!  Of course you can add any sentiment you want.

07.01.18_SHAREABLE_DSP_SALE_ENGIf you are loving this designer paper as much as I do now is the time to order it!  During the month of July Stampin’ Up! is offering their Buy 3 Get 1 Free Sale on select designer papers.  You can get 4 packages of the same design or mix and match from the patterns offered.

There are 10 different packages of designer paper offered in this deal and of course I love them all!  You can check them out right here in my online store.  Don’t miss out on this great deal!  It ends on July 31st!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Peaceful Feelings With Lilypad Lake

Lilypad Lake.0618Peaceful and relaxed.  That’s how I feel when I see this card.  The only thing that your eye is drawn to in this card is the focal point image.  The blues of the ocean.  The rising/setting sun and the boats slipping along in the breeze.  Peaceful.

Sometimes clean and simple is the way to go with a card.  I’m finding my card making style heading more and more in that direction.  Don’t get me wrong.  I still like my layers and my ribbons and my die-cuts but you certainly can’t go wrong with clean and simple.

You could use this card for many occasions and it does have a masculine touch with the sailboats.  With the feelings of peace and relaxation I think it would make a nice sympathy or get well card.  What occasion would you use this card for?

I love the Lilypad Lake stamp set and the coordinating Lakeside framelits.  This bundle can be used for any type of card but I always feel calm and relaxed when I see it.  The sentiments in the stamp set evoke those feelings perfectly.  You can check out the bundle on page 133 of Stampin’ Up!’s new Annual Catalog.

I hope you have a calm and relaxing day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Abstract Impressions and Mango Melody

Abstract Impressions1.0618Hello!  Today’s card is one made with one of my favorite new stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!’s 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  Abstract Impressions.  I love all the different flower shapes in it as well as the sentiments.  So fun!

One of the things I love about using this stamp set is that you don’t have to worry about stamping anything perfectly.  It makes using the stamp set SO easy!

I also love the colors I used on this card.  They’re all brand new to Stampin’ Up! this year.  I wasn’t keen on Mango Melody when I first saw it but now I can’t seem to get enough of it!  It’s bright!  It’s fun!  And it really goes with almost everything!  Yellows and oranges aren’t really my favorite colors but I do love my Mango Melody.

I’ve paired the Mango Melody with Granny Apple Green and Lovely Lipstick (another new favorite!).  Don’t you just want to smile when you see this card?  🙂

What do you like best about this card?  The stamped images or the colors?  Leave a comment and let me know.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

They’re FREE!

Have you checked out Stampin’ Up!’s new ink pads yet?  They are wonderful!  Here are some of the ways they’ve been improved:

  1.  Easier to open.  You now just flip up the lid (like opening a compact) and slide it back over the base.  Easy peasy.
  2. The lids have a much tighter fit.  This means the lids won’t pop off as easily as before.  They’re a little harder to open at first but they’ll loosen a bit as you use them.
  3. The ink pads are stackable.  The bottoms of the ink pads have tiny little knobs in the corners and the tops have little indentations to make them stackable.
  4. The ink pads are slightly smaller in size.
  5. The ink has a defoamer in it so that you will get a cleaner, crisper stamped image.

07.01.2018_SHAREABLE2_INK_PAD_USNow that I’ve shared with you how wonderful these new ink pads are let me share with you some exciting news!  You can get a FREE color family of 10 new ink pads when you sign up to be a demonstrator during the month of July!  That’s right!  Not only will you get to choose $125 of merchandise for only $99 with your starter kit but you will also get to choose a color family of ink pads that you will get for free also!  Now that is a great deal!  Oh….before I forget to tell you….the shipping is FREE on your Starter Kit!  Woo Hoo!

Patriotic.0716Happy 4th of July everyone!  I hope everyone has a safe and fun day!  We’re heading to a neighborhood party later on so that should be fun.

This is a card I actually made a couple years ago and shared.  You can check out the original post here.

Garden Impressions Card

Garden Impressions.0618Hello!  Since Stampin’ Up! is having a “Buy 3 Get 1 FREE” sale on select designer series papers I thought I would share this easy and beautiful card with you today.

This card is made using the Garden Impressions Designer Series Paper (#146289 $11).  This package of designer papers is one of my favorites and it’s included in this month’s special.  The images on the papers are all bright and fun and coordinate with each other.

The card was easy to make.  The hardest part was deciding on which patterns of designer paper to use.  Once the hard part was over I chose coordinating cardstock and ribbon.  That’s it.  The large piece of designer paper measures 4 3/4″ by 3″ and the smaller piece of designer paper measures 4 3/4″ x 3/4″.

This template would probably work well with any of the papers included in the sale.  Hmm….I think I’ve just challenged myself!  I guess you better stay tuned and see what else I come up with!  🙂

You can check out all the patterns of Designer Series Papers that are included in this sale right here in my online store.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
