Geometrical: A Fun Card!

016Hello on a sunny and soon to be warm President’s Day!  Yep…it’s going to be close to 60 degrees here in Denver today!  Much nicer than the below zero weather we experienced while in the Minnesota Homeland last month!  🙂

Today’s card is made with the Geometrical stamp set and I CASEd it completely!  Why reinvent the wheel?   I’ve seen so many FUN cards made with this stamp set.  Have you played with it yet?

I love how the designer has the little strip of Kaleidoscope designer paper along the inside edge of the card and has trimmed off the front of the card so the paper shows.  I also love the little randomly placed triangles on the card.  Isn’t the little triangle punch fun?  I hope you have as much fun playing with this Geometrical stamp set as I did!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Anniversary Shaker Card

033How about a fun shaker card for my special day?  It’s my 10 year anniversary with Stampin’ Up! today!  Woo Hoo!  I can’t believe that I’ve been a demonstrator for 10 years!  I’ve LOVED every year of it!  I’ve met tons of great friends and have learned so many great things.  I can’t wait to see what the next 10 years will hold!

Today’s card is one that I designed for one of my upcoming classes.  It’s perfect for my anniversary isn’t it?  One of the presenters at Leadership Conference showed us how to make these fun shaker cards.  I couldn’t resist making my own. The shaker frame is made using the On Film Framelits Dies (#132969 $29.95) and a large Cello Bag (#102210 50/$4.95).  The new cello bags are perfect for this because they don’t have a seam in the back like the old ones.  I die cut the “polaroid frame” from a Silver Foil Sheet (#132178 2/$3.95).  Then what you do is attach your cello bag to the back of the frame with Sticky Strip.  You can either cut Stampin’ Up! Sticky Strip (#104294 $6.95) in half or you purchase narrow sticky tape online or from your local craft store.    Adhere the tape to the bottom and  two sides on the back of the frame.  Line up the cello bag just below the opening of the frame and along one side edge.  Your cello bag is bigger than the frame so you’ll have to trim it.  Fill your cello bag and then use your Sticky Strip to close up the cello bag.

For the shaker portion of my card I punched out stars from Silver (#124005 2/$4.95) and Champagne (#127885 2/$4.95) Glimmer Paper using the star punch from the Merry Minis Punch Pack (#126882 3/$16.95).  You won’t find these little punches in any catalog but they are still available.

To finish off the card I ran the background piece through the Big Shot with the fun Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order.   FREE stuff!  Woo Hoo!

I will try to do a tutorial on the shaker card next week when I get back from the mountains.  It’s pretty easy and makes such a FUN card!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Week in the Snow

Breck2014Hello from Breckenridge, CO!  We’re spending the week up at our time share.  It’s been snowing almost constantly since we got here Friday evening.

This is a picture from our skiing excursion on Sunday.  The snow was coming down pretty good and the wind was blowing.  The skiing was pretty good though, even for a slacker like me!

I’m enjoying vegging out in the condo.  I’ll see if I can find the time to post a card or two later this week.  I am pretty busy being a slacker….I have my massage later this morning!  It’s a tough life being a slug!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Petite Petals in Black & White

004Hello on another frigid Colorado morning.  Yesterday when I woke up and checked the outside temperature I thought for sure I was back in my home state of Minnesota.  It was below zero!  Yikes!

Enough whining!  Let’s talk about this card!  I used the fun new Petite Petals stamp set along with the coordinating Petite Petals Punch.  You know me….I LOVE coordination!  It makes my life so easy!  🙂

I also used the new Decorative Dots Embossing Folder that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 purchase!  I love this embossing folder.  It’s so FUN!

Have a very WARM day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Vivid Vases Swap

032Today I have another swap card from a fellow demonstrator to share with you.  Isn’t it pretty?  I love the way Sandra highlighted the vases from the Vivid Vase stamp, don’t you?

I like the color combination of Coastal Cabana and Basic Gray.  Not a combination I would usually use.  That’s why I like to participate in swaps.  I get ideas for things I’d never come up with myself!

Don’t you love the saying on this card?  It’s from the new stamp set Perfect Pennants from the Occasions Catalog.  Of course the best part of this stamp set is the coordinating Banner Framelits!  I LOVE coordination!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

You Make Me Happy!

026Well, I couldn’t post yesterday because I was in mourning for my Denver Broncos.  It seems they forgot to show up to the Super Bowl.  Oh, well….there’s always next year, right?!  🙂

Since I was  a little sad yesterday I thought I’d post a card that made me smile.  How can you not crack a grin when you have a bright card that says “You Make Me Happy”?!

My friend Tena Lynch made this card for a swap that I hosted.  Isn’t it bright and cheerful?  She used the gorgeous “Happy Watercolor” stamp set, the Retro Fresh Designer Paper and the Retro Fresh This and That Washi Tape.  Washi tape is SO fun!  I love it!  Don’t you smile when you see this card?   Thanks for sharing Tena!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Super Bowl Sunday! Go Broncos!

Broncos Undefined.TLynchWoo Hoo!  Go Broncos!  I can hardly wait until this afternoon!  I love football and my team is in the Super Bowl!  I’ve already showed you both of these projects but since my Denver Broncos are in the Super Bowl I have to share them again.

GO BRONCOS!!!!002

Simple Saturday: Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper

009What do you mean it’s already February?  Yikes!  What happened to January?  I could swear it was just Christmas!  Sheesh!

It’s Simple Saturday and today’s card is SIMPLE!  Of course, it’s still pretty darn cute!

I just made some banners from Sale-a-bration’s Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper and the Banner Framelits and added a sentiment.  This card design is great because you can use it for almost any occasion.  My sentiment is from the Yippee Skippee stamp set.  Too fun!  Don’t forget…this designer paper is from the Sale-a-bration Brochure so you can get it for FREE with a $50 purchase!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration Petal Parade

011Today’s card is made with another one of the items you can choose for FREE with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-bration.  I used the cute Petal Parade stamp set on this card.  Yep, another one of those stamp sets that doesn’t do anything for you until you actually see it on a card.  The only thing it had going for it when I first saw it was that it coordinated with the Sweet Sorbet Designer Paper.  Now of course I can’t wait to use it again!

This was a fun and easy card to make.  Just randomly stamp your images, add a sentiment, some ribbon and a couple of extra layers.  That’s it!  A cute and simple card you can make for any occasion!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration Banner Blast

006It’s another Sale-a-bration card and a cute one at that!  This was by far the favorite card we made at classes this week.  The Banner Blast stamp set and the fun new Banner Punch were definitely a hit!  How can you go wrong on a card when you’re using Melon Mambo!  🙂

I did copy the basic idea for this card but as usual, changed it up a bit.  About the only thing I didn’t change was the banner.  I think what grabbed me about the original was the use of the Rhinestone Basic Jewels between the little banners.  It makes it so fun!  I will definitely have to make some extras of these to have on hand!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Are You Ready for Some Football?

002Woo Hoo!  The Denver Broncos will be in the Super Bowl on Sunday and I’m ready!  Well, not totally ready as I still have to buy and make the food for our party but my decorations are coming along just fine!

I hate to toot my own horn but isn’t this banner great!  It turned out better than I had anticipated.  I love it when a plan comes together!  Be sure to click on the photo for a close up view.

I used my now retired banner kit for the letters.  I started with Pumpkin Pie for the orange since that is the color the ribbon came in but when I downloaded the Bronco logo and printed it out the Pumpkin Pie didn’t match so I switched to Tangerine Tango.  To get my ribbon to match then I just used a Sponge Dauber to rub the Tangerine Tango ink on the Pumpkin Pie ribbon.  It worked perfectly!

Go Broncos!

I did mention that it’s Technique Tuesday so I suppose you’re wondering what the technique is.  Well, check out the ribbon.  It’s Crisp Cantaloupe but Stampin’ Up! doesn’t sell Crisp Cantaloupe taffeta ribbon.  Hmmm….how did I do that?  It was SO easy!  I put some 70% rubbing alcohol and some Crisp Cantaloupe ink refill in one of our Spritzers and spritzed some Whisper White taffeta ribbon!  Tada!  Crisp Cantaloupe taffeta ribbon!  Give it a try!  This is an easy way to get ribbon in any of Stampin’ Up!’s colors!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Perfect Blend

006Good morning!  I know….I took the weekend off.  Busy, busy, busy.  I’m still trying to catch up on life from all my January travel!  I’m getting there so just be patient with me!  🙂

I don’t drink coffee but I love this stamp set!  Perfect Blend is so dang cute!  I just love those to-go coffee cups.  I have seen some really cute cards made with this set and couldn’t resist making one of them for class.  The theme for last week’s class was “Love & Friendship” so this card worked perfectly!  The fun designer paper is from the new Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Pack in the Occasions catalog.   I can’t wait to use more of it!  Too fun!

Grab your own cup of coffee, have a great day, take care and Happy Stamping!

Hello, Lovely!

012Here’s another fun Valentine card we made in class this week.  We received the Hello, Lovely stamp set at convention and I think this is the first time I’ve used it.  Isn’t that terrible?  Too many stamp sets….not enough time!

I saw this card online and knew I had to copy it.  Isn’t it cute?  My favorite part of the card is that it uses Melon Mambo….my favorite color!  🙂  I also love the combination of the frilly doily and the splotches from the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.  I’m not sure I would ever have come up with that combination.  Such a fun card!  I love when my fellow demonstrators help me come up with ideas!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Crazy, Mixed Up Love

008Hello!  Today I have a fun and easy card for you.  The name says it all.  The stamps in the Crazy, Mixed Up Love stamp set are…..crazy!  They’re just plain old fun!  Be sure to check it out on page 30 of the regular catalog.

I chose the light bulb stamp for my card.  There’s a bit of meaning behind it as Debbie Boone’s “You Light Up My Life” was my husband’s & my song when we were dating in college back in the day.  I guess that little tidbit of info really dates me doesn’t it?  (And I guess it’s a bit embarrassing too!)  Oh, well….what can I do?  I am what I am!  🙂

Back on track to the cute card!  Once again this was a stamp set I didn’t think I needed to have….you can see where that got me!  I used the bright, fun colors Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise on the card as well as the fun Brights Candy Dots.  Have you played with those cute little things yet?  I really need to use them more.  They’re so fun!  The Gingham Garden Washi Tape really adds to the card too, don’t you think?

A fun card for many occasions.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
