A Lovely Wedding

2015-01-03 17.44.13Let me just begin by saying that the wedding yesterday of one of our neighbor boys and his bride was beautiful.  The bride was radiant and the day turned out just like she imagined.  But it was cold.  Brrr!

I’m not one to complain (OK…I do like to whine a little…..) but yesterday was not the perfect day for an outdoor wedding in Colorado.  Yes, we get some mighty fine winter days here but yesterday was not one of them.  The temperature and the wind did not cooperate.

The wedding was at a golf course that has a gorgeous view of Denver and the mountains.  Unfortunately there was a light snow and a wind so you couldn’t see much.  There was a beautiful patio area off the club house where the wedding was held.  It was covered and tented on three sides but that wind made it a bit chilly.  I had on open-toed shoes and my little toes were almost numb by the time the ceremony was over.  The front area where the kids got married was open which made it a bit tricky when it came time to light the Unity Candle.

2015-01-03 17.06.43Once we got inside everything was warm and wonderful though.  Good friend, good food and good fun!

The picture to the left is the adults from the neighborhood although the grooms parents aren’t in it.  They were busy mingling.  I’m the short one in the back row.

2015-01-03 16.27.18Here’s a picture of the “kids” from the neighborhood and their significant others.   My son is the second from the right.

A cold but lovely evening.  🙂  Congrats Tim & Emily!

Colored or Plain?

006Colored or plain?  Which do you prefer?  You may recognize this card.  I posted the plain version of this card earlier this month.

Now that I have some of the fabulous Blendabilites I thought I should play with them and the Peaceful Petals stamp set is absolutely perfect for them!  I colored the flower on this card with the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities.  Gorgeous!  🙂

003The Peaceful Petals stamp set will not be available after Sunday, June 1st so if you want this set you better order it TODAY!  🙂

So back to the original question…colored or plain?  Leave a comment and let me know which one you prefer.

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

I Have It!

002I have it!  I have it!  I have the exciting new Stampin’ Up! catalog in my grubby little hands and it’s AWESOME!  I know you’re going to LOVE it as much as I do!  It’s set up to help you find what you’re looking for whether you’re a beginner stamper or an advanced one.

The new In-Colors are awesome, the new stamp sets are awesome, the new accessories & designer papers are awesome.  The whole darn book is AWESOME!  …..have I told you how awesome this catalog is yet?  😉

The new in-colors are Blackberry Bliss, Hello Honey, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow and Tangelo Twist.  I can’t wait to share them with you!

I took a stroll through the catalog last night when I got home just to get acquainted with it.  Now comes the fun part of making lists of everything I can’t live without!  🙂

The premiere last night was a lot of fun.  Watching it in a movie theater (there were over 7000 demonstrators across the country doing this!) wasn’t that much different from being at a live event.  At events they always have a big screen showing the presenters on stage and that’s what we saw on the movie screen.  What a fun event!  There were door prizes too!  No, I didn’t win one but my downline Cheryl did so that was exciting.

We came home with the new catalog, the newest issue of Stampin’ Success (the magazine for demonstrators only) and the most beautiful new stamp set called “Work of Art”.  I can’t wait to play with it!

Now, don’t you wish you were a demonstrator and able to attend fun events like this?  Well, you can sign up and if you do and decided to go to convention in July this year your registration fee is FREE!  Be sure to ask me about this if you think it sounds like a fun!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A New Look!

Check it out! What do you think of my new look? I hope you like it because it took me all weekend to change!  Did you notice the color I used?  Yes, my favorite PINK!  This way you’ll know you’re in the right place! 🙂

I wanted something a little cleaner and a little friendlier. I hope this does the trick. Be sure to leave me a comment to let me know what you think of the new look!

Speaking of looks….I am SO excited! Tonight is the 2014-2015 Catalog Premiere! I get a sneak peek at the new catalog! It’s going to be so fun. Stampin’ Up! is hosting an event in Long Beach, CA and they’re streaming it live to movie theaters across the country. Lucky for me one of the streamed events is here in Denver. I did have to sign up in advance and purchase a ticket but on top of getting the new catalog I may get a few little treats. I’ll be sure to tell you all about it tomorrow! 🙂

Don’t forget to leave me a post on what you think about my blog’s new look.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Week in the Snow

Breck2014Hello from Breckenridge, CO!  We’re spending the week up at our time share.  It’s been snowing almost constantly since we got here Friday evening.

This is a picture from our skiing excursion on Sunday.  The snow was coming down pretty good and the wind was blowing.  The skiing was pretty good though, even for a slacker like me!

I’m enjoying vegging out in the condo.  I’ll see if I can find the time to post a card or two later this week.  I am pretty busy being a slacker….I have my massage later this morning!  It’s a tough life being a slug!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Magnetic Frame

004Today’s Simple Saturday project is a quick gift item.  I made this for the gal who does my hair and she LOVED it!

I first showed you one of these magnetic frames back in May.  I’ve updated it using items from the Holiday Catalog.  I used the Winter Frost Specialty Designer Paper, the Frosted Finishes Embellishments, Silver Foil Paper and the Silver Ribbon.  It’s such a fun and simple project.  I’m trying to figure out who else I can give one to!

I love the Frosted Finishes Embellishments.  I think that Stampin’ Up! should keep selling them.  I bet they’d look good as the center of a flower for spring…..I better let them know on Monday so they can take care of that!  Ha!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Christmas Collectibles

014Ah, Christmas….

It’s on it’s way!  Here’s a fun and easy card for the holidays made using the Christmas Collectibles stamp set and the Winter Frost Designer Paper.   I added a piece of the Silver Foil Sheets as well as the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to make it pop.

Don’t you just love Bermuda Bay as a color for Christmas?  Definitely not traditional but oh…so pretty!

Are you ready for Christmas?  I’m definitely not!  We still have to get all the Christmas boxes down from the attic!  It will happen soon though!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Daydream Medallions Christmas Wreath

Daydream MedallionsWhere oh where have I been?  I apologize for being such a slacker when it comes to my blog.  I do have to confess that I’ve been playing with My Digital Studio.  We got the links to the pictures of my son’s wedding so I had to do some quick creating while the sale was still on for the MDS print products.  I ordered my Christmas cards and I also made albums for the three sets of grandparents.  I’ll show you a few pages tomorrow.

Here’s an actual card for you!  Isn’t it fun?  I saw this idea months ago and knew we had to make it for class.  I stamped two of the medallions from the Daydream Medallions stamp set and die cut them with the Floral Frames Framelits.  Layer them, add a ribbon and a sentiment and you’ve got a great Christmas card!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

She Has Returned…..

October 2013 Iphone Photos 046 (2)002Yes, the wedding is over and I have returned!  Here is a picture of the lovely bride and groom, Margot and Jared.   The wedding was just beautiful.  My younger son Kyle performed the ceremony and did a wonderful job.  A new career perhaps?

My husband and I have been doing pretty much nothing all week and have enjoyed every minute of it.  Now it’s back to the grindstone.

I did think that I should probably show you some kind of project since I’m back.  The second picture is the program that the bride and I created.  She found the idea on Pinterest and we ran with it.

She designed all of the printed parts including the names on the front.  We had those printed and cut professionally.  I then stamped the Positively Chevron stamp over the names with Versamark ink before we layered them on the matchbook card.  The black chevron strip on the bottom is actually washi tape.  No, not Stampin’ Up!, but it sure is cute!  I ordered way too much so I’ll definitely be using it on a project or two for my upcoming classes!  🙂

The program matches the invitations that Margot designed.  I’ll have to find mine and show you.  They were stinkin’ cute!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
