Scentsational Season Shadow Box

OMG!  This is TSC!  Too Stinkin’ Cute!  I wanted to post this yesterday when I had it done but I couldn’t get a good picture….today’s picture isn’t great but the shadows and glare are at a minimum.  I saw something similar to this on Pinterest so I had to give it a try.  Can I say it again?  TSC!!!

I started with an 8″x 8″ shadow box from one of the big box craft stores.  The designer paper squares are 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″ and mounted on a square of 2″ x 2″ card stock.  The hardest part was figuring out the size and placement of the squares and what to put on them.  Most of the squares have stamped images that were die-cut with framelits or punched.  Did you notice the center square?  It has a new special item from the upcoming Spring Catalog….a Soda Pop Top!  How fun!  I actually made two of these for gifts and now I’m thinking I really need one for myself!

It’s Official!

It’s official!  I’m going to be a mother-in-law!  Woo Hoo!  My boy finally asked his sweetie Margot to marry him on Sunday while they were hiking in Red Rocks here near Denver.  Did I say Woo Hoo?!   We’re all pretty excited for them.   The first thing many of us said when they told us was “It’s about time!”.  They’ve been together for 7 years.  They started dating in the 11th grade.  She can’t wait to move out to California with him.  Unfortunately she has one more semester to go to get her college degree.  No date or plans yet.  I just hope it’s not another seven years!  😉

Table Decorations

Hello!  I’m still recovering from Thanksgiving.  Last night we hosted our annual “Left-over Night”.  Yes, just another excuse to get together with friends and eat more but we always have a good time!  This is one of my table decorations from Thanksgiving.  I had all of this Stampin’ Up! tulle in my drawer and wanted something easy to do with it.  Ta-da!  Tie a bow around a wine glass, add a little sand and a candle and you have a table decoration!  This isn’t a great picture but it gives you an idea of what I did.  Change the tulle to Cherry Cobbler and add a red or green candle for your Christmas table.  I do have to give you a little tip.  My wine glasses (12 for $10!) had a narrower top than bowl and once the candles melted we had a bit of trouble getting them out of the wine glass!  Just a little something to think about!  😉

I saw this picture on Facebook yesterday and just had to share.  It was made just for me!  Ha!  😀

Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder

Hello!  I made today’s card for the church office.  We had a new assistant pastor start this past week so I made this card for the staff to give him.  I still have a tough time with masculine cards.  It took forever for me to come up with an idea for this one.  I finally decided on the aspen leaf since it kind of says “Colorado” and the new pastor is coming from Ohio.

The card is pretty basic.  I did stamp the aspen leaves on the More Mustard background before embossing it to add a little more dimension to the card.  Simple, yet masculine!

Be sure to check back tomorrow for the link to everything that will be on sale during the Online Extravaganza!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Floral District Circles

Hello!  No, I did not fall off the face of the earth.  I’m in the Minnesota Homeland, just returned from the wilds of Canada where hubby and I spent the long weekend cutting, chopping and stacking wood with his parents.  The weather was horrible but we had a good time.  We got TONS of wood cut for the rest of the fall and winter to heat the cabin.

Now that I’m back to civilization with internet I can finally add a post or two to my blog.  I apologize for falling so far behind.   Thursday night this week I’m doing a mini Stamp-a-Stack class for my sister and some of her friends.  Needless to say, that was what I was doing right before our trip….I had to choose the cards as well as cut the card stock and pack up everything I would possibly need for the class.

Stamp Set: Friendly Phrases
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Card Stock: Whisper White, Rich Razzleberry
Designer Paper: Floral District
Accessories: Basic Rhinestone Jewels, Stampin’ Dimensionals
Tools: 1 3/4″, 1″ and 3/4″ Circle Punches, Small Heart Punch

Today’s card is one of the cards for the class.  I CASEd it from my upline Tara.  She has such great ideas that are simple.  I still have a hard time coming up with simple but I’m getting better.  The circles are cut from the Floral District Designer Paper pack.  Isn’t this a great idea?  Just punch out circles from beautiful designer paper and layer them on your card!  I LOVE it!  Simplicity at it’s best.  Add a layer of colored card stock,  some rhinestone jewels and a sentiment and you have a beautiful card!  Don’t be surprised if you see this card at a future class!  😀

It’s time to get ready to head to the mall with my mom.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Hello!  Busy, busy, busy again.  Classes are done for the month and we head out of town later this week.  I’ve been trying to clean up loose ends as well as design cards for a class I’ll being doing at my sister’s in MN.  I also had to design card for my group to make for the church office.  Like I said; busy, busy, busy!  I also want to get my classes for October set so I don’t have to do it when I get home!  I think I need a vacation….oh, yeah….I leave Thurdays!  😀

Today’s card is one that I designed a while ago.  It was a possibility for a swap and/or a class but didn’t make the cut.  Actually, I love it but it isn’t a quick card to make with all the die-cutting, spritzing and sponging.  Sure is pretty though!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon

Hello!  The BIG Sale went well although I still have lots of items left.  I think I’ll keep them out for classes next week and hopefully get rid of a few more items.  Today’s card is one we made in classes last week.  Isn’t it beautiful?  I CASEd it from my Stampin’ Sister Gina.  Thanks Gina!  😀

I just love this technique!  I stamped the flowers with Black StazOn and then colored them in with bleach.  I did have to go out and buy new bleach as the old stuff I had on hand wasn’t bleaching the paper!  Who would have thought that bleach goes bad?!

Once I stamped the Crumb Cake background I really made it pop by running it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  What a great look!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
