Card Case With Cards

016Hello!  Today’s project is one we made at my Spring Fling back in the beginning of May.  I was reminded that I hadn’t posted it while making four of them in the past couple of days!  We’re heading back to the MN Homeland in a couple of days and I made some for my mom and sisters.

They’re really quite easy to make.  The card case itself is made from one of Stampin’ Up!’s Clear Mount Stamp Cases.  All I did was cut a piece of designer paper 10 5/8″ x 7″ and slip it between the plastic protector and the case!  Then just decorate away!  I’m sorry to say though if you like the center of my flower that the 019Designer Brads from the spring Occasions Catalog aren’t available any more but you could easily substitute something else.

The cards were pretty easy to make also.  What you can’t see in the picture is that I scored the card front lengthwise twice (at 1 1/2″ and 3″)and adhered the card stock strip between the scored lines.  It really added a nice touch to the simple card.

The envelope was easy also when I used the diagonal plate for my Simply Scored.  I’ll show you how I made that in a future video.

Have a great day!  Take care and happy Stamping!

Pistachio Pudding Mosaic Madness

Mosaic Madness.0513Do you like green?  I sure hope so because today’s card is definitely green!  😀

I started by embossing the Whisper White card stock using the Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder.  Unfortunately it’s hard to see in this photo.  Then I stamped the two different sizes of mosaics from the Mosaic Madness stamp set on a piece of Whisper White card stock and punched them out.  I used the Mosaic Punch on the larger design and one of the Itty Bitty Punches on the smaller design.  After punching them out I adhered them to the embossed card stock and added a few pearls.  The sentiment is from the cute hostess stamp set Banner Greetings.  Unfortunately there’s not a punch for the banner but it’s pretty easy to cut out!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Stampin’ Up! CASE Card

Remembering Your Birthday.0613Here’s a card that I CASEd right from the new Stampin’ Up! catalog.  We also made this at the regional event I went to in April.

This was the second make-n-take project at my open house last week.  It’s a fun card using more than one new product.  Of course the stamp set, Remembering Your Birthday, is new.  Can you spot any other new products?

There’s a die-cut and embossed piece of Whisper White card stock on the card that uses two new products!  The Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder as well as the new Deco Labels Framelits.  Cute, huh?  Oh, I forget to tell you…..my Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot came the day of my open house so we were able to play with it after all.  Everyone LOVED it!  😀  The other new product is the Raspberry Ripple Designer Paper.  Stampin’ Up! has redone all of the paper packs with new, fun designs.  Very nice!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Tip of the Day (or Technique) Tuesday: Splatters!

ARoundArray.0513I would call today’s card a generic card.  You could use it for a guy or a gal.  I used the Epic Day Designer Paper as well as the A Round Array stamp set.

This card was kind of fun to make.  Since Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry the Spritzer Tool anymore I had to find a different way to make splatters on my card.  The Epic Day Designer Paper just screams for splatters since some of the papers are splattered!  Ha!

The easiest way to splatter is to squish the lid of your ink pad to pick up some of the ink.  Then take your Aquapainter, pick up some of the ink and then tap the Aquapainter against your finger.  You do want to make sure that your Aquapainter has a bit of water on it to help the splatters.  That’s it!  Now you can easily splatter away in any color!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Easy Label Love Card

033Another Label Love card for Simple Saturday.  I seem to like this stamp set for easy cards.

I do have to apologize for the retired ribbon I used….it’s my favorite though!  And when I made this card it was the only Melon Mambo ribbon I had!

Don’t these colors work great together?  I’m not sure if I ever used Island Indigo and Melon Mambo together before.  I’ll be using this combination now though….especially since it’s two of the colors in my favorite new designer paper:  Gingham Garden!

The little flowers are from the Create a Cupcake stamp set.  I haven’t used that one in awhile!  It’s fun to get out those oldies but goodies sometimes!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Stampin’ Up!’s Magnetic Platform for the Big Shot!

Woo Hoo!  Did you see this fabulous product in the new catalog?  Mine should be here today and I can’t wait to play with it!  It will make die-cutting with Framelits so much easier!  Did I say Woo Hoo?!  Have you ordered yours yet?

It’s Tip (or trick) of the Day Tuesday and I definitely would classify this as a trick when using Framelits.  It should be so much easier to use than sticky-notes.  We’re going to be playing with this new toy at my open house tomorrow.  I’ll let you know what everyone thinks!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Wisteria Wildflower Meadow

025Such a pretty card….

I’ve seen lots of beautiful projects made with this Wildflower Meadow stamp set.  This one is pretty easy.  Probably the most difficult part of making this card is coloring the Whisper White Taffeta ribbon with the Sponge Dauber to make it Wisteria Wonder!

Stamp the image, run it through the Big Shot with the coordinating embossing folder, spritz it with shimmer mist, add your ribbon and you’re done!  Oh….don’t forget the pearls!

There’s a couple of those steps that you can’t really see from the picture.  If you look close enough you can tell that the image is embossed but you can’t see that I spritzed the card with shimmer mist.  It did really add a bit of pizzazz to the card….honest!  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simply Stars Birthday Card

030Yesterday was my dad’s birthday so I probably should have posted this card then.  Unfortunately I didn’t, so you now get to see it today!  Ha!

This card is CASEd from one of the projects we made in April at Stampin’ Up!’s regional event at their home office.  The project we made then was a notepad cover with a different color combination.  I wanted to brighten things up and make a card so this is what I came up with.  Isn’t it fun?!

I used the returning Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral inks as well as the brand new Crisp Cantaloupe and Coastal Cabana inks on the stars.  Don’t they work great together?  The Simply Stars stamp set is so much fun!  The sentiment is from another new stamp set, Remembering Your Birthday.  I just love playing with all of these new things!

Later today I need to work on my order from the new catalog.  I need to order some of the new toys to show at my open house on Wednesday evening.  It should be a fun time so stop on by if you’re in the neighborhood!  😉

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Best of Birthdays Cupcake

020Another easy, not simple, card.  This stamp is from the Best of Birthdays stamp set.  Do you remember the original stamp set that it’s from?  I don’t but then the old brain aint what she used to be!  Ha!

Stamp, color, punch, Big Shot, a few layers, some ribbon and dimensionals and you’ve got this cute card!  The hardest part was trying to figure out what colors to use to color the cupcake!  Don’t you love easy?!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Not Simple, Just Easy!

017I thought of saving this card for Simple Saturday but I used the Big Shot on it.  Instead of being simple, it’s just easy!

The great part of this card is that you can change it up in so many different ways….color, ribbon, sentiment, stamp set, embossing folder….the combinations are almost endless!

I went for masculine on this card.  The Argyle Embossing Folder definitely says “masculine”.  Then of course the color of Midnight Muse can be masculine and finally, did you notice that I used a knot on the ribbon instead of my fake bow?  I couldn’t give up using ribbon completely so I went with the knot!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Morning Cup Get Well Card

008Hello on a beautiful Sunday morning!  I’m back from church and ready to dig into my craft room….yes, dig in.  My goal by the end of tomorrow is to have a cleaned up work space.  I’ve been doing a little bit here and a little bit there for the past few days but now it’s time to get serious!  Enough is enough!
I actually used 5 different retiring products on this card.  Can you find 018them?  First hint….color.  Yep, Regal Rose is going away.  It used to be my favorite Stampin’ Up! color until Melon Mambo appeared on the scene!
Next hint….accessory.  My favorite ribbon won’t be around any more.  🙁  I love the Scallop Dot Ribbon.  (I am stocking up on the Melon Mambo and the Basic Black before they’re gone for good!)
Third hint…images.  Both the Morning Cup Stamp Set and the Take a Sip Wheel are both departing.  I’m sad to say that the Take a Sip Wheel was one of those items that went fast once the retired list came out and it’s no longer available.  You can still get the stamp set though!
Final hint…Big Shot.  No, the Big Shot isn’t going anywhere but the Scallop Envelope Die won’t be available after June 3rd.   That’s all five of them!  I did pretty good being able to use so many retiring items on one card, didn’t I?!
Don’t forget to order those items on your list that are going away!  Once they’re gone, they’re gone!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Swallowtail

022This Simple Saturday card actually has layers!  It’s still simple though.  My mom wanted some cards for Mother’s Day so this is one of the ones I sent her.  It will be perfect for a Stamp-a-Stack too.  Easy, yet elegant.  Hmmm….that could be another whole category of cards…..I like it!  😀

I adhered the Elegant Eggplant layer with Stampin’ Dimensionals to add a little pizzazz to the card.  You could even go a step further and add a little glitter to the butterfly too.  Of course, if you did that it wouldn’t be a Simple Saturday card…it sure would be pretty though!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Moving Forward

012Moving Forward is the Ronald McDonald House Charities stamp set this year…or at least will be through June 3rd.  That means that for everyone of these stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! sells they will donate $3 to Ronald McDonald House Charities!  Isn’t that great?!  These stamp sets are usually fun and a little whimsical….after all, they support kids!  Have you ever helped Stampin’ Up! make a difference by purchasing one of these specialty sets?

This is a fun card, perfect for a kids birthday card or just someone young at heart!  I used Midnight Muse and Raspberry Ripple on this card.  Have I ever confessed to you that a lot of the time I design a card around the ribbon I can use?  I might come up with a card idea but if I can’t find the right ribbon to use on the card I’ll try a different plan.  Kind of weird, I know.  You won’t be surprised then to find out that the new ribbons are the first things I buy when I new catalog comes out!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Lovely As A Tree, An Oldie But Goodie

015The bad news is that there’s only a little over a week left to order from the retiring list.  The good news is that Lovely As A Tree isn’t on the list!  This stamp set is definitely an oldie but goodie.  It will be a sad, sad day when Stampin’ Up! takes this stamp set out of the catalog!

I used Garden Green and Crumb Cake on this card.  I first stamped the trees on Crumb Cake with the Garden Green ink.  Then I ran it through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  I also brushed some Crumb Cake ink over the raised portions after embossing it.  A nice masculine card.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
