Soda Pop Top Wrist Watch

299Well, I looked to my fellow talented demonstrators for this card.  Once again I never would have thought of this trick on my own…

Turn a flattened Soda Pop Top into a wrist watch!  Not only do you punch out the watch face and glue it into the flattened Soda Pop Top but then you fill it with Crystal Effects to make it shiny like a watch crystal!  Who thinks of these things?!  I really need to start thinking outside the box a little more!  😀

The watch is from the “Dapper Dad” stamp set in the Spring Catalog and the sentiment is from the “Happy Hour” stamp set.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Clockworks: A Masculine Card

297I first used this stamp set at Stampin’ Up!’s Regional event last fall here in Denver.  My first thought was:  “This stamp set will be great for my masculine card class!”.  It’s so hard to come up with masculine cards but we always need them!

This stamp set is perfect for making a collage and that’s just what I did!  I first stamped the pocket watch, masked it and then stamped the backgrounds.  The watch face is stamped separately and punched out. Of course I needed to use my trusty Stamp-a-ma-jig to stamp the hands on the watch face.  A pretty basic card but it works great for guys!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Blue Ribbon Graduation

296Graduations are just around the corner.  Do you have your graduation cards made?

We made this card in our Guys and Grads class last week.  I did use the colors for our local high school since one of the neighbors is graduating this year but the great thing about this “Blue Ribbon” stamp set is that you can exchange the “congrats grad” for three other sayings.  It’s very versatile!

How many graduations do you have to make cards for this year?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Tip of the Day Tuesday: Toothpaste!

photo (5)It’s time for a new feature at Stamp by Stamp Creations!  Like MDS Monday, I can’t guarantee that I’ll have a tip for you every week but if I do, look for it on Tuesdays.

I am SO excited share this fun tip with you because it really works!  Last week in class we were using the Designer Type Photopolymer Stamp Set with these itty bitty numbers and Black StazOn ink.  My itty bitty clear block was practically black by the end of class because people were pressing down on the ink pad just a little too hard with those itty bitty stamps.  What was I to do?

So, we got talking at the end of class about how I could try and get those little things clean.  We were using StazOn ink which is suppose to….stay on!  It’s permanent right?  We tried a few different suggestions but nothing was working….UNTIL Teresa suggested that I try toothpaste.  Not just any toothpaste….it had to be Crest tooth PASTE, not gel.  Well, low and behold….it worked!  Magic!  It took a little elbow grease along with the toothpaste but it worked!

I only had a little travel size tube on hand so I need to go and put a full size tube on my grocery list!  How about you?!

For The Fisherman…

294I was so glad to see this “By The Tide” stamp set in the Spring Catalog.  We need more stamp sets that you can use to make cards for guys!  As much as I like this stamp set I would still love to see a stamp set with fish, fishing pole and reel, a fishing boat….that kind of thing.  I’m from the Midwest and you don’t see a whole lot of lobsters or seahorses in the lakes there….just saying!

I used Not Quite Navy on this card with the Crumb Cake.  Isn’t it a nice color combination?  Or, should I say it was…..bye-bye Not Quite Navy.  I’m sad to see you go.  🙁  Oh, well.  I guess it’s time for new color combinations!  What color are you sad to see go?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Another Simple Saturday!

006I’m getting better at simple cards….or should I say I’m getting better at CASEing simple cards?!  Ha!

This card was pretty easy, especially since I started with one of the notecards.  I’m really liking those little things!

I started by punching out the larger butterfly on the small piece of Whisper White card stock with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  I stamped my sentiment and then adhered the designer paper to the back of the punched butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add the Rich Razzleberry layer, the Bitty Butterfly and a brad.  That’s it!  I told you it was simple!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Secret Garden Birthday

005 When I saw this card online I knew I had to CASE it!  Isn’t it beautiful?  It’s not a simple card to make but it sure is pretty!

The flowers are from the Secret Garden stamp set.  I stamped them with Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed them with White Embossing Powder.  Then I rubbed Calypso Coral in over them to add a bit of dimension before die-cutting them with the Secret Garden Framelits.  The “Happy Birthday” is a single stamp called “Beautiful Birthday” on page 44 of the catalog ($6.95).  If you like it, you better order it now because it is on the retired list and won’t appear in the new catalog.

I kind of white-washed the embossed background to soften the look a bit and I rubbed Old Olive Ink on the edges of the leaves to add dimension.   I thought this would have made the perfect Mother’s Day card but I couldn’t find the perfect sentiment for it.   I guess that means I’ll be creating cards for the moms this weekend!  I’ll let you know what I come up with!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Another MDS Monday!

Convention 2009-004It’s time to show you more of what you can do with My Digital Studio.  This really is a great product.  You really should give it a try!  😀

This is a page from an album I made back in 2009, shortly after My Digital Studio (MDS) came out.  The album is all about Convention 2009.   On the last MDS page that I showed you I had designed everything on the page.  This page was SO easy to make because all I did was drag and drop my photo onto the page and add the text!  I used the Summer Home Designer Template.  All of the pages were designed and as I mentioned, all I had to do was drag and drop my photos onto the pages.  The nice thing about using one of the templates in My Digital Studio is that all of the work is done for you but you can still change things up a bit if you’d like.  You can add more photo boxes, move the embellishments around and even add new ones.

You really should give this fabulous product a try.  It’s easy and fun.  I’d be happy to sit down with you and show you how it works.  You can either purchase it now for only $19.95 give it a trial run for 30 days for FREE!  Just click on the “MDS free trial” box on the upper right portion of this page.  For you Baby Boomers……”Try it….you’ll like it!”  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Bombs Away Birthday!

010Bombs Away!  Have you checked out this fun new set yet?  It’s another photopolymer stamp set meaning it’s completely clear.  Fun to work with.  You definitely have to try it!  This is a fun set because the sentiments are a little snarky…ones you may not use on your mother’s card.  Ha!  One of my favorites is “Congratulations!  The music you grew up on is now considered Classic Rock”  Too fun!

Besides the stamp set, I used a couple other new products on this card.  The bomb is stamped on the new Smokey Slate card stock.  It’s a nice, soft, pale gray.  Lighter than the old Going Gray.  The other new product is more Washi Tape.  I think Washi Tape is going to be one of my favorite new products!  It’s easy to use and it adds a little zip to your cards.

This Washi Tape is the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape.  It’s part of the This and That product line.  This and That is a fun and quick way to scrapbook.  Check it out hereThese This and That products are from the new catalog coming on May 31st but did you realize that you can buy these products now?  But only through April 30th…after that you’ll have to wait for the new catalog.  The best part about this limited time offer is that if you purchase all 5 products in this line by April 30th you will receive 15% off!  All 5 This and That products for only $32.08!  Such a deal!  Don’t miss out!  Place your order today!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Label Love

028It’s time for a new feature that I hope you’ll enjoy.  It’s Simple Saturday!  Sometimes simple is the best.  I have to admit….I have a hard time with simple cards.  I love layers and embellishments!  I’ve found a new “tool” to help me with simple though.  It’s the Note Cards and Envelopes!  They’re great for simple because they’re smaller and I have less area I need to fill!  Ha!

For this cute and very simple card I used three new items that will be showing up in the new 2013-2014 Catalog!  I used the Label Love stamp set, the matching Artisan Label Punch, and the SO much fun new Gingham Garden Washi Tape.  I’ve never used Washi Tape before and I used it on three different cards as I was playing around yesterday.  It’s so much fun and easy to use! You’ll definitely have to try it!

Be sure to keep checking back for more sneak peeks at products from the new catalog.  I went crazy making samples yesterday! 😀  What did you think of Simple Saturday?  Is it helpful?  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Best of Flowers Pop ‘n Cuts Card

007

This is one of my favorite cards from a recent class.  The stamp set is the Best of Flowers.  It’s a definitely a fun new set.  Do you have it yet?

The doily adds a lot to the card but my favorite part of the card is the card itself.  It’s made with the new Pop ‘n Cuts Card Base from the Spring Catalog.  Check out the second picture and you can see the details better.  It’s such a fun new design for a card.  I love the way the little nobs fit into the die-cut slits to keep the card closed.  What do you think of this new die?

009I’m so glad that Wisteria Wonder is staying around.  It’s such a nice soft color.  What color are you glad to see entering the line-up?  I’m excited about the Color Refresh.  There were some colors that I didn’t care for.  I’m excited for all of the new color combinations we’ll have.  How about you?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
