Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!  🙂

Build a Banner: BRRR

004 (800x231)

This project is perfect for Colorado today!  It’s absolutely FRIGID here!  You wouldn’t think that I would be such a weinie, especially being from the Minnesota tundra, but my blood has thinned at altitude and I’m dang cold!  🙂

These Build a Banners are so fun to make!  I just love making them.  All the pieces and parts came in the Christmas Banner Kit.  I did add a few little things though.  Click on the picture to make it larger and you’ll get a better view of the banner.

The first thing I added to the kit is on the first rosette.  I added a bow made from 1/8″ Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon.  The second things(s) I added were little “flowers” on embellishments 2, 3 & 4 punched with the Boho Blossoms Punch.  The only other thing I added was the large circle on the back of the center embellishment.  This turned out so cool!  I took a piece of Silver Glimmer paper and spritzed with a combination of Bermuda Bay Ink Refill and 70% rubbing alcohol!  So pretty!  You really need to try this little technique!  Too fun!

I hope you have a warm and cozy day….perfect for stamping!

Christmas Collectibles

014Ah, Christmas….

It’s on it’s way!  Here’s a fun and easy card for the holidays made using the Christmas Collectibles stamp set and the Winter Frost Designer Paper.   I added a piece of the Silver Foil Sheets as well as the Silver 1/8″ Ribbon to make it pop.

Don’t you just love Bermuda Bay as a color for Christmas?  Definitely not traditional but oh…so pretty!

Are you ready for Christmas?  I’m definitely not!  We still have to get all the Christmas boxes down from the attic!  It will happen soon though!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

MDS Monday: Wedding Page

JMWedding-012Welcome back to MDS (My Digital Studio) Monday!  Here is one of the pages from the albums I’ve been working on.  As I’ve mentioned before, I like to stick to simple for my layouts and embellishments.

All of the pages in the book started with the Crumb Cake background overlaid with the slightly darker Crumb Cake chevron design.  That part was so simple to make.  I simply lighted the opacity of the background so that the chevron design would show up darker.  I love that little trick.  If you’re wondering why I chose the chevron design for the background go back to this post.  We used the chevron design on the programs for the wedding.  I thought those turned out so cute I just had to use that design again!  🙂

All of the pictures in the book have a black frame around them and if the page needed a little something to fill in the blank space I used this little flower outline.  Like I said, my scrapbooking style is very simple….especially when you’re trying to get things done quickly!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Daydream Medallions Christmas Wreath

Daydream MedallionsWhere oh where have I been?  I apologize for being such a slacker when it comes to my blog.  I do have to confess that I’ve been playing with My Digital Studio.  We got the links to the pictures of my son’s wedding so I had to do some quick creating while the sale was still on for the MDS print products.  I ordered my Christmas cards and I also made albums for the three sets of grandparents.  I’ll show you a few pages tomorrow.

Here’s an actual card for you!  Isn’t it fun?  I saw this idea months ago and knew we had to make it for class.  I stamped two of the medallions from the Daydream Medallions stamp set and die cut them with the Floral Frames Framelits.  Layer them, add a ribbon and a sentiment and you’ve got a great Christmas card!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Wonderful Blessing

009Isn’t this a beautiful stamp?  It’s called Wonderful Blessing and it’s one of the current single stamps available.  There are eight great Christmas single stamps available until January 31st.

This is one of the cards we made for our Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack last month.  I’m planning on making my Christmas cards with My Digital Studio this year but if I wasn’t I’d definitely be making these!

It’s great that the stamped image can be die cut perfectly with one of the Circle Framelits.  I thought the background embossed with the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder added the perfect touch.  I just may have to make some of these to have on hand next Christmas!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Calm Christmas

007This card is another simple one from our October Christmas card Stamp-a-Stack.  This one was made using the Calm Christmas stamp set.  Didn’t this card turn out pretty using the Island Indigo ink and card stock?  It’s not your typical Christmas color but it’s striking on this card.

Stamping and layers are all you’ll find on this card.  Can you believe that I didn’t even use dimensionals?  Ha!  Simple…..

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Tags for You Thanksgiving

012Are you looking for an easy little card to include with a gift for your Thanksgiving dinner hostess?  This one is perfect.

It’s made with the Tags 4 You stamp set and the fun new Label Bracket Punch.  The designer paper is the adorable Sweater Weather designer paper.  This pattern is probably my favorite from the package.

This is a simple little 3″ x 3″ card.  Did you notice that I lined the little envelope?  How fun!  The Envelope Liner Framelits are great!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Simple Festive Flurry

005Way back in October, before the wedding, we had a Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack class.  This lovely card is one of the ones we made.  We stamped the snowflake from the Festive Flurry stamp set and die cut it with the Festive Flurry Framelits.  Gotta love coordination!  😀

To finish off the card we stamped a sentiment from More Merry Messages, added some layers, popped up the snowflake and added a rhinestone jewel.  Ta Da!   A beautiful and simple card!

Have you started your Christmas cards yet?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Really Good Greetings

006I love this sentiment!  Although, shouldn’t it say “finally a day that really is all about me”!  Ha!  That’s always the joke at convention….everything is all about me!

Joking aside…it is a fun sentiment!  It’s from the Really Good Greetings stamp set.

The Naturals Composition Specialty Paper makes such a great background.  And then when you add the fun Chevron Punch and Chevron Ribbon to it….look out!  Adorable card!

I made this card back in August for my open house.  It was so fun to just sit and play with all of the great products that I collect.  I really need to do that more often.  Now that the wedding is done I may have time to just do that!

Do you get to play often with all of your “toys”?  I either have to stop collecting so many toys or make the time to play with them!  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Baby Prints

004My cousin’s daughter is having a baby in January and her shower is this coming weekend.  Unfortunately I can’t make it since it’s back in the MN homeland.  I did buy some of my favorite children’s books for her (Chicka Chicka Boom Boom and Good Night Moon) and sent them home with my mom when she was here for my son’s wedding.  I didn’t have time to make a card for Kate before the wedding so I made one last weekend and mailed it to my mom so she could include it with the gift.

I used Pink Pirouette on this card but I do have to admit that I kind of miss Pretty in Pink.  The color was just a little more saturated.  I used the Baby Prints stamp set for the little feet and the One in a Million stamp set for the sentiment.  A cute and simple little baby card.

Technique Tuesday: Clear Block Stamping

023Technique Tuesday!  Have you ever wondered if your clear blocks can be used for anything besides holding a stamp?  Well, they can!  You can actually stamp with them!  Yep, stamp with them!

That’s what I did on this simple card.  I inked up the clear block with Soft Sky ink and stamped it directly on the Whisper White cards stock.  It makes the perfect background and adds just the right touch of color to this simple card.

The fun thing about this technique is that you never get the same exact look.  Each time you ink up the block you get a slightly different coverage of the ink.  Pretty fun!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Positively Chevron

021The other day I showed you the adorable wedding programs from my son’s wedding.  Today I have a few projects that those programs inspired.  I’m just loving that chevron!  How about you?  This Positively Chevron makes the perfect fun background.  The sentiments are from the new photopolymer stamp set Another Thank You.

My week of recovery (from the wedding!) is over and it’s time to get back to work.  I was such a slug that I read three books in five days!  It was kind of nice.  Back to stamping though!  I have projects designed for my next few classes and I’d love to have projects designed for my classes though the end of December done in the next few weeks.  It would be great to get ahead of the game for the hectic schedule of the holidays sneaks up on me!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Truly Grateful

013November is the month of thanks and thanksgiving.  No matter our situation, we all have something to be grateful for.  My list is long but I’ll start by thanking you for sticking with me and my blog through vacations, family weddings and just plain old being a slug!  Thank you!

I’m also thankful for Stampin’ Up!.  They’ve given me a second family.  I can’t imagine my life without the many friends I’ve made by being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.

Truly Grateful is one of the new fall sets in the Holiday Catalog.  I love the images in this set….perfect for fall and Thanksgiving.  I ran my Early Espresso Core’dinations Card Stock through the Big Shot with the Woodgrain Embossing Folder.  It made the perfect background for this card.  Don’t you just love the Burlap Ribbon?  Too fun!

What are you grateful for?  Leave a comment and let me know!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping.
