I’m Off to Convention!

004It’s time to Party With My Peeps!  I’m off to convention in just a bit.  Can’t wait!  Woo Hoo!  There’s just something about hanging out with my fellow demonstrators, stamping, learning new techniques and checking out new products.  I LOVE it!  I’m so grateful that I can go.  Maybe you’d like to join me next year!  I’d love to show you the ropes!

This is my swap card for convention.  I’ll trade it for other cards and come home with tons of new ideas!  Of course I had to use my favorite Flamingo Lingo stamp set and my favorite color Melon Mambo because it’s PINK!  🙂

I’ll try to keep in touch over the next few days but if you really want to see what I’m up to at convention be sure to check (and LIKE!) my Facebook page.  Gotta go and get my bags in the car!  Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

Have You Missed Me?

Well….I’m back once again (at least for a few days!)  It seems like it’s been forever since I’ve chatted with all of you!  Vacation was good.  We had good visits with all of the relatives in MN and I got to see a few of my friends from high school.  The weather wasn’t bad.  Not too hot, not too cold and not too much rain.  Unfortunately my son caught the crud the second week of vacation and was kind enough to share it with my husband and I.  The three of us have been sick all this past week at home.  My son and I were smart enough to head to the doctor on Friday and the two of us are now on antibiotics and feeling and sounding much better.  I wanted to make sure I wasn’t sick for convention this coming week!

Since you’ve missed me so much you’d probably like to see an adorable project.   Yesterday I opened my home to a baby shower.   I only had to supply the air conditioned house.  My friend’s daughter did all the work.  The mother-to-be is expecting twins ( a boy and a girl) so there were TONS of adorable gifts on hand.  On Friday I decided I had better make a card for the occasion.  I know I have an old stamp set somewhere that would be perfect for twins but of course I couldn’t find it anywhere!  (I really need to get organized!)  I decided to then work with the adorable Zoo Babies stamp set.

002TSC!  This card turned out Too Stinkin’ Cute!  I’ve seen these adorable Card In A Box projects and thought I’d give it a try.  I love the way this one turned out!  They’re really not too hard to make.  I will work on making a tutorial for you….and those of you who come to my classes….we’ll definitely be making them in the near future.  I know you’ll love them!

So was missing me worth the wait?  I hope so.  Stick with me because I’ll be gone again in a few days.  I’m heading to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s annual convention.  Woo Hoo!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

I Love Flamingos!

014Why am I so enamored with flamingos?  I have no I idea….maybe because they’re PINK?  Whatever the reason they sure make a cute card!  🙂

Yes, I used the Flamingo Lingo stamp set again!  I hope you’re not bored with this stamp set yet because I’m not done with it!

This flamingo is stamped in Strawberry Slush so I was able to use the really cute Thick Baker’s Twine on the card.  I love the new Zig Zag Embossing Folder.  It reminds me of a straw hat or woven basket and it works perfectly with pink flamingos!

I’ve started packing for convention and what’s not already in the suitcase is organized and ready to be put in.  I’m still doing a bit of laundry but all is well.  Only two more day until Salt Lake City!  Woo Hoo!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Easy Sea Street!

025I am so glad I have the Sea Street stamp set.  It’s adorable!  I think I first fell in love with the little crab, then the octopus.  Of course the little lobster is pretty darn cute too.

Have you checked out the adorable COORDINATING (yep…there’s my favorite word again!) Maritime Designer Paper?  I LOVE it!  Back in May I had a post that showed two cards made with the just the designer paper….no stamping!  This paper is that cute!

I made this card back before the new catalog actually was out so the ribbon on this card is retired.  We used the new Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon on the card in classes this week.  It’s just as cute.

I’m looking forward to July when I get back from vacation.  Then I’m going to invest in all of the new ribbons and designer papers.  I like to have all my options available when I’m designing a card!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Another Fabulous Flamingo!

012Woo Hoo! I’m a winner!  Yesterday I told you all about Paper Pumpkin….such an awesome kit!  Anyway, Stampin’ Up! is holding a Paper Pumpkin boot camp for it’s demonstrators so we can learn more about the program and how to market it and such.  I’m participating.  After we complete each week’s training and challenges we fill out a survey and then names are randomly chosen for winners.  Well guess what?  I was a winner from week 1!  Woo Hoo!  Such a treat!

Back to today’s card….another flamingo!  I told you I got carried away with this stamp set!  What I forgot to tell you the other day about the Flamingo Lingo stamp set is that it is this year’s Ronald McDonald House stamp set for Stampin’ Up!.  That means that for every one of these stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! sells $3 will go to Ronald McDonald House Charities.  How cool is that?  So when I purchased this stamp set not only did I get a stamp set that I absolutely love but Stampin’ Up! also donated to Ronald McDonald House Charities!  Woo Hoo!  I love Stampin’ Up!!

If you love Stampin’ Up! too and would like to be a part of it and my team of SASsy Stampers don’t forget that June 30th is the last day to take advantage of $50 Starter Kit!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Woo Hoo for Paper Pumpkin!

PaperPumpkin.0614I am SO excited about June’s Paper Pumpkin kit.  It came in the mail yesterday and I played with it last night.  The pinwheels are adorable!

In this kit there are enough supplies to make 24 pinwheels!  Wow!  All the pieces were cut and ready to make a pinwheel.  Easy-peasy!

I only made a couple of them because I’m going to do a class for my sister next week back home in MN and I’m going to let all the guest make one to see how easy these kits are to use.

Did you give Paper Pumpkin a try when it first came out but weren’t real thrilled with the projects?  It’s definitely worth another try.  The kits just keep getting better and better!  Not only that but they contain more product now.  In the beginning if the projects were cards you only received enough supplies to make 4 cards.  Now the kits will come with enough supplies to make 8 cards!  Woo Hoo!

Another great thing about the NEW Paper Pumpkin is that when you sign up you will receive the next month’s kit.  The same kit that everyone else receives.  No more Starter Kit.  Woo Hoo!

If you haven’t given Paper Pumpkin a try now is the time.  There are a couple of different ways to do this.  Your first choice is to sign up for a month-to-month subscription and have your credit card charged every month.   For this option just click here and sign up or you can go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com and choose me, Cindy Russell Highlands Ranch CO, as your demonstrator.

Your second subscription option is a prepaid subscription.  For this option you place an order like any other Stampin’ Up! product.  Simply go to my store and order a subscription.  The prepaid subscription come in 1 month (#137858 $19.95), 3 month (#137859 $59.85), 6 month (#137860 $113.70 – saves $1/month) or a 12 month (#137861 $215.40 – saves $2/month) subscriptions.

What are you waiting for?  Sign up for Paper Pumpkin today!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

My Absolute Favorite!

FlamingoLingo.0614Here it is! My absolute favorite stamp set in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog….Flamingo Lingo! Isn’t it adorable? I have this thing about flamingos. Not sure why, but I do.  When I first got that new catalog in my hands and was flipping through it this is the stamp set that I knew I just had to have!

I finally played with it last weekend and made tons of cards with it.  Ok…that’s a slight exaggeration but I did make a lot!  Here’s one of them.  It’s actually the first one I made.

010Don’t you love the scallop design on the card?  That’s made with the new Striped Scallop Thinlit Die for the Big Shot.  Too fun!  The thing to remember when using Thinlit dies is to place a sheet of wax paper between your die and your card stock.  This makes it so your card stock doesn’t stick in the die.

Don’t you just want to go on a tropical vacation when you see this stamp set?  I sure do!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Who Wants Ice Cream?

034A hot summer day is the perfect time for ice cream or at least an ice cream cone card!  Pretty darn cute, no?

This card is pretty easy…maybe not quite simple enough for Simple Saturday but pretty close.  I used that fun stamp set “What’s Your Type?”.  Yep, another one of those stamp sets that you seen in the catalog and are pretty sure you don’t need…until you see all of the cute projects made with it!  Don’t be so quick to judge though….it’s actually a pretty versatile stamp set!  🙂

You may not believe this, but I didn’t get the idea for this card from Pinterest…..it’s actually my own design!  I know….hard to be believe!  It’s a triangle and a half circle with some smaller circles from the Cupcake Builder Punch thrown on for sprinkles.  The adorable saying is from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set.  Don’t forget the fabulous Decorative Dots Embossing Folder!   A perfect card for summer!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Hamburger Box Die Hippo

055Once again I came across something in the new Stampin’ Up! catalog that I didn’t think I’d need.  Whatever would you use a die cut hamburger box for?  Sheesh!  I don’t need that!  Well, I did.  Last month I posted an adorable Stars & Stripes Hamburger Box and today’s project is even cuter!

The gal who created this adorable hippo didn’t stop there.  She created a whole zoo of hamburger box animals!  Thank you Betty Traciak!  She created the hippo, an alligator, a giraffe, a bear, a horse and more!  I’ve made of few of the others which I’ll share with you soon.

Wouldn’t these make great treat boxes for a kid’s birthday party?  What other use can you came up with?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Day Late and a Dollar Short…..

030OK…I’m not really a dollar short but I just had to finish the saying.  Once again I am a day late though.   I think it’s my theme for the week.  Hmmm…..

It’s Technique Tuesday on Wednesday!  Why not?!  You don’t really care.  You just want to see what adorable project I have for you today!  🙂

For today’s project I used the wonderful Wetlands stamp set.  This set is great for guy cards and sympathy cards.

We made this card at classes last week and I may use it for some of my swaps for convention.  I’m still contemplating that.

Don’t you love the Soft Sky background that the birds are stamped on?  Let me tell you how I did it.  It’s simple and fun!  Open up your Soft Sky ink pad.  Now take a piece of wide blue painter’s tape a little longer than the length of the ink pad.  Lay the tape, sticky side down, on the ink pad and lightly press down.  Remove the tape and place it on your card stock.  Lightly press the tape down and remove it.  Ta da!  You now have a beautiful background for your birds!

Isn’t that a fun technique?  Like I mentioned before, it’s simple and fun!  Give it a try on your own project then send me a picture of your project to cindy@stampbystampcreations.com.  I’d love to see it!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

What’s Your Type? Sailboat

028Pretty darn cute, isn’t it?  I wish I could take credit for this little masterpiece but no, I CASEd it right off of Pinterest.  That’s what Pinterest is for, isn’t it?  🙂

This adorable little sailboat is made using the What’s Your Type? stamp set.   Take a half circle and a triangle and you have yourself a sailboat!  The waves were made using the chevron stamp from the Work of Art stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! has quite a few shape/design stamp sets in the new catalog that you can just do your own thing with.  It’s pretty fun.  The little “for you” is from Itty Bitty Banners and die cut with the Bitty Banners Framelits.  TSC.  Yep, this card is too stinkin’ cute!  Thanks to the original designer.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Sunday (?): Work of Art

022OK….I know it’s suppose to be Simple Saturday but I had already posted for yesterday when I realized that this card would have been perfect.  Therefore…..Simple Sunday!

What can be more simple than stamping the same image four times in a row?  Yep, that’s how I got this fun ombre look for the card.  Don’t you love it?  A simple technique!  I added a few layers, popped up the little punched heart and added the sentiment.  All from the same fabulous stamp set Work of Art.  This is one of those stamp sets that had I just seen it in the catalog I would probably have passed it by.  Since I received it at the Catalog Premiere Event that I went to in April I figured I had better play with it.  Too fun!  I’ve made a lot of fun things with this stamp set and am glad I have it.  You will probably need it too!  😉020

The great thing about a simple card like this is that you can do it in ANY color.   I made this card for my New Catalog Open House and showed it in all of the new colors.  I do have to let you know that the little heart punch that I used on the card is retired but Stampin’ Up! came out with a new little heart punch in the Little Bitty Accents Punch Pack.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

So Very Happy and Blendabilities

023I love everything!  I love Blendabilities.   I love the Moonlight Designer Paper Stack.   I love the new 2014-2016 In-Colors!  Sheesh!  What don’t I love about all the new things in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog?

A few weeks ago I was just playing around with my new Blendabilities Markers and remembered that I had the So Very Happy stamp set that I received at Leadership back in January.  It’s another one of those stamp sets just made to color!

Once I colored my flower I had to figure out what to do with it and this is what I came up with!  🙂  Kind of cute.  I’m not sure I did such a fabulous job on the blending portion but I like the over all card.  You really can’t go wrong when you use the new Blackberry Bliss on your card!  Ha!

One of the nice things about the flower in this stamp set is that I didn’t have to cut it out….nope….I just grabbed Blossom Punch and punched that flower out!  Coordination!  Woo Hoo!

The sentiment is from one of my favorite word stamp sets A Dozen Thoughts.  It had a variety of sayings and they’re all in different fonts.  Too fun!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Ombre 3 x 3 Thursday

007It’s another cute and simple card for 3 x 3 Thursday!

The fun chevron pattern is from the beautiful Work of Art stamp set and the little “thanks!” is from Lots of Thanks stamp set.

To get this fun ombre look I simply inked my stamp once and stamped the image three times.  That’s it!  It’s a great way to get the ombre look without having to figure out which shades of the same color go together.  Simple.  Cute.  Fun!

Remember what I said yesterday about white cards?  Here I go again!  Oh, well….do what you love!

I’m so excited…..my order from the new catalog should arrive later this afternoon!  Woo Hoo!  Then I get to play with more new toys!  Have you placed your order from the new catalog yet?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

By the Tide Masculine Card

037A guy card!  Perfect for Father’s Day!  Guy cards are tough to design but the By the Tide stamp set is perfect for guys!

I had seen a card using this stamp set and the Burlap Ribbon and thought “Hmm…I like that combination….what can I come up with?” and this card was it!  Ha!

The browns I used on the card are Baked Brown Sugar and Soft Suede.  Don’t they go well together?

The card is pretty easy.   The background is the Honeycomb Embossing Folder.  I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch and the Starburst Framelit for the background for the fish but I did have to cut out the fish by hand….no punch.  The gals in class yesterday were a little disappointed as they don’t like to cut things out!

I found that the best way to adhere the Burlap Ribbon is with a liquid glue like the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue that Stampin’ Up! carries.

I like the way this card turned out.  It may even be one of my swaps for convention!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
