Happy Birthday Lori & Linda!

Today is the BIG day for my sisters.  They turn 50 whether they like it or not!  I had already sent them the black “50” card so I wanted something a little more fun for this card!  I needed a square card because I wanted to fit the CD of the their photo album in the card.  Here’s the fun and simple card that I came up with.

Yes, I know that the Real Red Satin Ribbon has retired and that you can’t purchase the Summer Smooches fabric brads but they were perfect for this card!  I used the Summer Smooches Designer Paper.  The flower was made from the Fun Flowers Die for the Big Shot.  It’s a bright, fun and simple card for a BIG birthday!  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

50th Birthday Card

Today I’m taking my sisters out to lunch for their 50th birthdays (yes, they’re twins!).  They’re not looking forward to the big day but I’ve assured them that it’s relatively painless!

Last week I sent them a little care package to help them prepare for the big day along with this card.  I used Basic Black card stock, Brushed Silver card stock, Silver Glimmer Paper and Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I’m making them photo albums with My Digital Studio but I haven’t printed them yet.  It’s probably good that I didn’t since my parents and I discovered a few errors while I showed it to them!  I’ll let my sisters check the albums out on CDs and make any changes they want before I do print them.  I’ll be sure to share some of my favorite pages with you in the near future.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Nice and Juicy!

Doesn’t this card make you think of a hot summer day?  Mmmm!  I can almost taste the watermelon!  It’s such a bright and fun card for summer and it’s PINK!  The watermelon image is from the “Mouthwatering” stamp set.  Love that fruit!  I colored the watermelon with markers, stamped the image and then stamped the image again over the first image with Versamark so that I can emboss it.  Yes!  I did use the Stamp-a-ma-jig for that!  I used Clear Embossing Powder on my card but now as I’m typing this I realized that should have used the  Melon Scented Embossing Powder!  How silly of me!  I’ll have to switch that for today’s classes!  The sentiment is from the “Fabulous Phrases”.  After stamping the word I used my Bitty Banner Framelits to die cut it.  Those little Framelists are SO cute!  I can’t wait to get the coordinating stamp set “Itty Bitty Banners”!  It’s hard to tell from the picture but I embossed the small piece of Basic Black card stock with my favorite Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder.  I finished the card off with multiple layers and my favorite ribbon…Melon Mambo Scallop Dots Ribbon!
