Midnight Muse Serene Silhouettes

Stamp Set: Serene Silhouettes
Card Stock: Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake
Ink: Midnight Muse
Accessories: Midnight Muse Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dazzling Details, Mini Glue Dots
Tools: Big Shot, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Stampin’ Sponge, Apothecary Accents Framelits

This “Serene Silhouettes” stamp set is definitely one of my favorite from the new catalog.  I can’t seem to get enough of it!  We used it again in classes last week.  This card is very basic and simple but striking, if I do say so myself!

After embossing the large Crumb Cake card stock with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder (one of my favorites!) I lightly rubbed Midnight Muse ink over it with a Stampin’ Sponge.  This technique just adds so much to the finished project.  To finish off the card and give it a little zip I added just a drop of Dazzling Details to the base of all large flowers.  It really made them pop.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

You’re Amazing

Stamp Sets: You’re Amazing, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Card Stock: Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn, Basic Gray, Island Indigo
Accessories: Summer Starfruit Striped Satin Ribbon, Mini Brads, Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Tools: Big Shot, Chevron Embossing Folder, Paper Piercing Tools, Large Oval Punch, Modern Label Punch, Word Window Punch, Blender Pen

Hello!  Today’s card is made using one of the stamp sets that we received at convention.  I wasn’t real thrilled with this set when I first saw it but that darn elephant is growing on me!  Since I had this stamp set I wanted to use it on a card and this is what I came up with.  I also wanted to try to use that interesting color….Summer Starfruit.  Like the elephant, it’s slowly growing on me!

The layout for this card is what I would call my “Go To Layout” or my default layout.  But it’s a good one and very versatile!  😀  I colored the elephant’s hat with the markers but I didn’t want the elephant to be too dark so I used a blender pen and the Basic Gray ink to color him in.  Isn’t the Chevron Folder fun?  This is one of my first times using it and I can see it has a lot of potential.

You may have noticed that I used paper piercing on both the large and the small pieces of Whisper White card stock.  I have this thing about too much excess white space that I need to get over!  I don’t think it detracts too much from the card, do you?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Creative Elements – Layered Stamping

Stamp Sets: Creative Elements, Blooming With Kindness
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Temporary Adhesive

Hello!  Isn’t this a beatiful card?  I absolutely LOVE this technique but I honestly don’t know what it is called so my name for it is Layered Stamping.  Why Layered Stamping?  Well, that’s basically what you do.  You have three different size pieces of a light colored card stock (Very Vanilla on my card) and using temporary adhesive, adhere them all together so that they are centered on each other.  Then simply stamp your design.  You will notice while you are stamping that the “edges” where the smaller piece meets the larger piece doesn’t stamp perfectly but that’s ok.  When you layer the light colored pieces on the darker colored cardstock (Cherry Cobbler on mine) and adhere everything together these parts are covered up!  How simple is that?!

I’ve seen so many beautiful cards done using this simple technique.  Fall leaves, snow flakes, flowers.  It’s definitely a style of card that can be used with many different stamp sets.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Papillion Potpourri

Stamp Set: Papillion Potpourri
Card Stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder
Ink: Pool Party, Calypso Coral, Wisteria Wonder
Accessories: Whisper White 3/8″ Taffeta Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals, Basic Pearls
Tools: Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Elegant Butterfly Punch, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Paper Piercing Essentials

Even though the temperature is still in the 90’s and summer isn’t officially over for another month it just seems like it’s coming to a close.  The kids here in Colorado are back to school and Labor Day is next weekend!  Yikes!  Where did the summer go? I thought I should post this summer looking card before I get too carried away with fall, Halloween and Christmas!

We made this card a few classes ago.  It’s quite simple but very pretty.  The label is die cut with the Apothecary Accents Framelits and then paper pierced with the Paper Piercing Essentials Pack.  I just love all of the templates that you get for paper piercing in that one pack.  There are templates for basic shapes, punches and framelits!  Woo Hoo!

Don’t you just love these summery feeling colors?  Perfect for butterflies don’t you think?  I hope you have a great day.  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Bleached Everything Eleanor

Ink: Crumb Cake, Black StazOn
Accessories: Stampin’ Dimensionals, Dazzling Details
Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon
Tools: Aquapainter, Bleach, 1 1/4″ Square Punch, 1 3/8″ Square Punch

Hello!  The BIG Sale went well although I still have lots of items left.  I think I’ll keep them out for classes next week and hopefully get rid of a few more items.  Today’s card is one we made in classes last week.  Isn’t it beautiful?  I CASEd it from my Stampin’ Sister Gina.  Thanks Gina!  😀

I just love this technique!  I stamped the flowers with Black StazOn and then colored them in with bleach.  I did have to go out and buy new bleach as the old stuff I had on hand wasn’t bleaching the paper!  Who would have thought that bleach goes bad?!

Once I stamped the Crumb Cake background I really made it pop by running it through the Big Shot with the Square Lattice Embossing Folder.  What a great look!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Here is the cowboy boot card we made in class this week.  Pretty darn cute, huh?  🙂  I love the versatility of this stamp set and I can’t wait to make a Halloween card with it!

This card was pretty easy.  The  designer paper really makes it pop doesn’t it?  I love the new Comfort Cafe Designer Paper.  There are both great masculine and feminine designs in the pack.

Accessories: Midnight Muse Striped Satin Ribbon
Tools: Big Shot, Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder

Hello!  I’m loving this “Bootiful Occasions” stamp set!  This card is CASEd from the talented Michelle Theriault.  Of course, I changed it up again although hers was adorable as is!  This card is TSC!  (Too Stinkin’ Cute!)  I can’t wait to play with this stamp set again!  OK….you will see another card made with this cute cowboy boot in the new future as we’ll be using it classes next week!  😀

I LOVE the new Woodgrain Embossing Folder for the Big Shot!  I can’t wait to use it on fall cards!  I used a Stampin’ Sponge to rub a little Soft Suede ink on the embossed image and it just made it pop.  That’s one of my favorite little tricks to use with embossing folders.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Lovely Everything Eleanor

Stamp Set: Everything Eleanor

Hello!  Today’s card is another swap card.  It was made by downline Vicki.   She used the stamp set “Everything Eleanor” on her card.  I love the way the Melon Mambo pops on the Soft Suede.

Swaps are such a great way to get new ideas.  I especially love seeing new color combinations and techniques or just cards made with stamp sets that I don’t have (and will probably have to have after seeing the cute card made with it!).

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Easy Events

Hello!  Here is a card that I received in a swap over a year ago.  I keep putting it aside and never share it.  I love it though and now it’s time to share it with you.  I loved this card since I received it.  Of course, since I can’t find it at the moment, I can’t give the talented designer credit.  Yikes!  I promise to do that though when I do find it.  (It’s got to be here somewhere, right?!)

It’s SO cute!  I must have a thing for rubber duckies…    The stamp set used is “Easy Events”.  This was definitely a card I knew I wanted to share with you.  The image is stamped on Water Color Paper.  I like how she layered all the different little colored jewelry tags and fanned them out.  Pretty darn cute!  It makes me want to take that stamp set out and play!   But no, I have to clean, clean, clean today!  Yuk!  Oh, well, sometimes we have to do things we don’t want to do.  🙁

I hope you have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping.

Two by Two

Stamp Set: Two by Two

I love Noah’s Ark!  For my youngest son’s nursery I had stenciled and painted a border of Noah’s Ark on the wall.  It turned out really cute and then we moved when he was only 3 month’s old!  I didn’t go to the same amount of work for the new room…

Two by Two was another one of those stamp sets that I knew I had to have from the new catalog.  Unbelievable as it may seem, I don’t even have it yet!  What’s with that?

This is one of the swaps from the New Catalog Swap I hosted.  It was designed by Keri Bowser.  Isn’t it cute.  I was so excited to receive a sample of this adorable stamp.  I will need to add it to my collection in the near future.

I hope you have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Ink: Baja Breeze

Tools: Big Shot, Designer Frames Embosslit, Extra-Large Oval Punch, Itty Bitty Flower Punch

Today’s card is one we’re making in this week’s classes.  I CASEd it from my upline Tara but naturally, I had to switch it up a bit.  (I just can’t help myself!)  😀

I love the simplicity of the card and the Twitterpated Designer Paper.   You could make this card with almost any designer paper with a smaller design.  Quite versatile.  I hope you like it too!

One Last Reason to Smile….

Stamp Set: Reason to Smile, Day of Gratitude
Card Stock: Primrose Petals, Whisper White
Markers: Primrose Petals, Gumball Green
Accessories: Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon, Stampin’ Dimensionals

Well, I think I’ve found my new favorite Stampin’ Up! color….Primrose Petals.  It’s such a beautiful PINK!  🙂  I liked it when it first came out but I didn’t fall in love with it until I started using it.  Now I can’t get enough of it!  Don’t be surprised if you see a lot of it on my cards…..just saying!

This was a simple card to make, especially if you use the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  If you don’t have this life-saving tool you may need to order one right away!  I love it for Two-Step Stamping.

I sure am going to miss “A Reason to Smile”.  I’m definitely hanging on to this one!  Don’t forget that July 31st is the last day you can get this stamp set.  It’s only $5 with a $50 order.  Don’t miss out!  Order yours today! Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

For The Birds

Stamp Set: For the Birds
Card Stock: Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White
Ink: Black StazOn, Pacific Point
Markers: Real Red, Soft Suede, Daffodil Delight
Accessories: Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, Basic Pearls,
Stampin’ Dimensionals
Tools: Big Shot, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Blender Pen,
Decorative Label Punch

This adorable stamp set was one of the first stamp sets from the new catalog that I knew I just had to have!  It’s so stinkin’ cute!  I made this card for the new catalog swap that I hosted.

Most of the image is colored with markers but I used a Blender Pen and ink pad on the bird.  Don’t you love the new Fancy Fan Embossing Folder?  Too fun!  I like the way my label turned out.  Pretty clever, isn’t it?   I punched out a label from Pacific Point card stock with the Decorative Label Punch.  I then cut the label in half horizontally and attached the pieces to the ends of my Pacific Point card stock.  A simple plan for a new look!

Take care!  Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

P.S.  I would love for you to leave a comment sometime.  I get tons of comments but they’re all spam so it would be fun to get a legitimate one sometime!  😀

Serene Silhouettes

Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Accessories: Crumb Cake Taffetta Ribbon

Well, I couldn’t decide which pictures from convention to share with you today so I figured I couldn’t go wrong with a card!  That’s mostly why you keep coming back, isn’t it?  😀

This is one of the cards we’ll be making in our Stamp-a-Stack next week.  I just love how soft and peaceful it looks, don’t you?

I really need to start cutting paper today.  I have 24 people attending my three classes plus another 4 kits for people who can’t come….YIKES!

I”m still recovering from convention.  Got up late again this morning.  Yesterday I didn’t leave the house but today I do need to hit the grocery store and the post office.  I guess I better get busy.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
