Bridal Shower Invitation

005Saturday I’m going to a shower for my future daughter-in-law.  I’m not hosting but she did ask me to make the shower invitations.  That was pretty fun.  Today’s card is the one I came up with.  Pretty darn cute, isn’t it?

This was actually my first time playing with the dress form die.  I used Shimmer Paper for the dress and embossed it with the retired Lacy Brocade Embossing Folder.  I got pretty excited when I had my prototype done because the dress looks very similar to the dress she’ll be wearing at her wedding.  Her dress is short and lacy just like this one although her’s has a straight skirt on it.  Too fun!  Since Margot lives in California and most of her family and friends is here she’s only having the one shower so I actually made about 40 invitations.  I did have them all done before convention.  Now I just finished making thank you notes for her.  Lot’s of fun.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Tessallated Hexagons

006Whoa!  You didn’t think I knew such big words!  Well, I just learned this one yesterday during class.  We were making this cute card using the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set (one of my new favorites!) and the gal sitting next me mentioned that she was tessellating.  A few of us looked up with this very confused look on our faces….what the heck are you talking about?!  Apparently it means forming or arranging items in a pattern.  You learn something new every day!  Don’t you love it!  It’s such a cool word too!  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

What’s your new word of the day?  😀

Elegant Chalk Talk Card

011Here we go again with one of my favorite stamp sets!  I can’t seem to get enough of Chalk Talk!

I made this card for a swap I participated in last June.  While I was organizing my new colors of card stock I happened to have a sheet of Pear Pizzazz with a sheet of Island Indigo and fell in love with the color combination.  So, naturally, I had to make a card with it!  😀

Did you notice the little flower I made with the Simply Pressed Clay?  I left the clay white when I made the flower but then when it was dry I brushed a little of the Island Indigo ink on it with a sponge dauber.  This technique highlights it just a bit.  Have you played with the Simply Pressed Clay yet?  You should definitely give it a try!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Holiday Catalog Happiness!

005I’m finally home!  Boy, those last two days in the car were LONG!  It’s good to be back!  😀

It’s August 1st and the Holiday Catalog is here!  Woo Hoo!  Have you checked it out yet?

If you follow me on Facebook (and you should!) you saw this card at the beginning of July.  I had just received my order with my new toys from the Holiday Catalog and this is one of the cards I made.  So many fun new products!  Be sure to check it out!

I used the fun new Festive Flurry stamp set as well as the WONDERFUL new Expressions Thinlits Dies for the Big Shot! I can’t wait to start playing with my new toys again.  We got home late Tuesday afternoon and I spent Tuesday evening and yesterday catching up on e-mail and laundry.  Of course I had to go to the grocery store too seeing as we didn’t have any food in the house!

Be sure to check out the Holiday Catalog and let me know if you have any questions on it.  You’re going to love it!  😀

One Last Pinterest Card: Daydream Medallions

008One last CASE from Pinterest.  I kind of ran out of time this month and didn’t get as many cards made that I had hoped.  It was a fun challenge though so I’ll definitely try it again sometime.

Didn’t this card turn out nice?  This was my first time using Soft Sky on a card since it came back into the color line-up.  If you come to my classes you just may see this one!  😉

The butterfly is die cut using the Butterfly Embosslit for the Big Shot and the little saying is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Happy Birthday to me!

007Yep, the old girl is having yet another birthday!  I just LOVE this card.  Can you guess why?  Well, there’s lots of reasons….it’s PINK, I used my favorite stamp set (Chalk Talk) AND I used the fun Washi Tape!  What more can a girl ask for on a birthday card?!

I made this card for I swap I hosted for the new catalog.  Pretty fun!  I stamped flowers from the Flower Shop stamp set on the background.

I’m not doing anything too exciting today.  Just heading back home from convention and getting ready to head on vacation tomorrow.  I better get going on that laundry so…

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Six-Sided Sampler

011I told you I liked the Six-Sided Sampler stamp set!  The hexagons are so FUN!

I did get this card from Pinterest.  Punch 5 hexagons, adhere them to your card stock (be sure to pop one of them up with a Stampin’ Dimensional) then add your sentiment and your Candy Dots!  That’s it!  Very fun and easy!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Chalk Talk Swap

017Opening session tonight for Stampin’ Up!’s convention!  Woo Hoo!  We’ll be heading over to the convention center sometime today to pick up our bags, stamp sets and t-shirts!  😀

Here’s my other convention swap.  I told you I’m into black these days!  I tried this card in other colors but it just wasn’t as striking as it is in black.  Once again I used one of my favorite new sets.  This time it’s Chalk Talk.  Love the coordinating Framelits!  Oh, FYI….this is a Cindy original too.  No Pinterest on this card!

I just love the chevrons on this card going this way and that.  Too fun.  Sshhh….my son’s getting this card for his birthday next week!

Be sure to check out my Facebook Page for updates while I’m here at convention!  😀

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Convention Here I Come!

007Today’s the day!  My friend Laura and I are heading to Salt Lake City for Stampin’ Up!’s annual convention!  Woo Hoo!  This year there’s going to be almost 6000 demonstrators in attendance from all over the world!   It should be a wild time.

Today’s card is one of my swap cards for convention.  Isn’t it cute?  (No, it’s not from Pinterest.  I designed it myself!)  I love the black with the Strawberry Slush.  I’m not sure but this Strawberry Slush is neck and neck with Melon Mambo as my favorite PINK!  😀

I used the Regarding Dahlias on this card.  The flower from this set looks just as good trimmed off as it is in this card as it does when you stamp the whole thing.  I’m actually going to make a bunch of these cards for my future daughter-in-law to use for her shower thank you notes.  Fun and girly, don’t you think?

Have a great day!  (I know I will!)  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Pinterest: Another Six-Sided Sampler

016Same old.  Same old.  Yesterday I told you that I keep going back to the new sets in the catalog!  They’re so cute though!

Here I am again with Six-Sided Sampler.  What is it with those hexagons?  😀  I am using a new color combination for me though.  Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding and Smokey Slate.  It’s one of those color combinations that I’m not sure I would have come up with on my own.  Very pretty though!

Isn’t it fun how the designer used both the larger hexagons from the stamp set and the smaller Hexagon Embossing Folder?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Pinterest: Hearts a Flutter

020This whole making cards from Pinterest thing is kind of fun but I do catch myself using the new stamp sets I have from the new catalog most of the time.  Here’s a card though from an old set.  Well, not so old.  It was in the Occasions Catalog this past spring.  Hearts A Flutter.

The card is pretty simple but you do need to use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up your little banners.  The sentiment is from the Sweet Essentials stamp set.  An easy, clean card which you can use for any occasion!

Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush are so pretty!  Definitely my favorite new In-Colors!  What’s yours?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Lacy & Lovely

013Isn’t this a cute card for Simple Saturday?  This cutie is from Pinterest.  What a surprise!

I used the Lacy & Lovely stamp set on this card.  This stamp set was actually new to last year’s Stampin’ Up! catalog but I just recently acquired it.  I think one of my favorite parts of this stamp set is the sentiments.  They’re larger and I like the font.

I am SO glad that Pear Pizzazz has come back.  It’s such a pretty green and goes wonderfully with blues!  What’s your favorite new color?  Leave a comment and let me know!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

More Six-Sided Sampler

002Another great set!  So fun!  Do you have any favorite stamp sets from the new catalog?  Six-Sided Sampler is definitely on my favorites list.

Have you noticed that I’m using a lot of black lately?  If you haven’t noticed yet, you will!  It’s suddenly become my go-to color.  Did you also notice that I used the Candy Dots again?  They are fun!

Oh, did I mention I got the idea for this card on Pinterest?  😉  I told you it was Pinterest month!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Washi Tape Wednesday

010More Washi Tape Fun on a Wednesday!  How can you go wrong on a card when you use fun Washi Tape, one of my favorite new stamp sets, Chalk Talk, AND my favorite color Melon Mambo?!  I also got to use the fun new Candy Dots.  Have you tried them yet?  This was the first time I’ve played with them.  I can’t wait to use them again!

Yes, I got the idea for this card from Pinterest.  So many great ideas in one place!  I love it!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Technique Tuesday: Make a border for your punches!

006  Welcome to Technique Tuesday!  Isn’t this a beautiful card…and it’s SO easy!  The decorative background is from the Soho Subway Designer Paper pack and the rest is card stock!

The label is stamped from the Lovely Label stamp set and then I made a border for it.  Here’s how I made the border:

Punch two labels from solid colored card stock.  Cut one in half vertically and one in half horizontally. You may need to trim portions of the sections so they don’t show where you don’t want them to. Then you’ll adhere the four cut pieces to the back of the stamped label.  This technique works for many of the Stampin’ Up! punches and framelits.  Give it a try sometime!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
