Indescribable Gift – Water Color

Indescribable Gift.0315The Indescribable Gift stamp set is lovely and it just screams to be water colored.  So, I got out my Aquapainters, my ink pads and my Water Color Paper and went to work!

I wouldn’t consider myself an artist, especially when it comes to painting.  One of the best things I’ve learned about water coloring is that you don’t always have to stay in the lines!  That’s the beauty of it!  It definitely works for me!

Have you ever water colored with Aquapainters and your ink pads?  It’s SO easy!  First off, if you don’t know what an Aquapainter is it’s basically a paintbrush with it’s own reservoir of water.  You can check them out here.  They’re very easy to use.  Before opening your ink pad, squish the top down a few times.  This will get a little ink from the foam pad onto the lid.  Squeeze the reservoir of your Aquapainter to get the brush part wet.  Now open your ink pad and pick up some of that ink you just squeezed onto the lid.  Now paint away!

I used Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzazz and Soft Suede on this card.  So soft and beautiful.  Can you see that I stamped the floral design directly onto the Pear Pizzazz card before adding the other layers?  It just seems to help make the image pop.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Happy Easter!

Easter.0415He is risen.  He is risen indeed!  Alleluia!

Happy Easter everyone!  I had to share this adorable project with you today.  No, I didn’t make it.  One of my customers did.  Isn’t it great?!  Most of the materials aren’t Stampin’ Up! but that’s ok.  We made a Christmas one like this in class a number of years ago.  Hmmm…maybe I need to make another one!

Whatever your plans are today, enjoy!  Easter blessings to all!

Indescribable Gift

IMG_5869The picture doesn’t do this card justice.  It’s so soft and gorgeous in person.  I used the stamp set Indescribable Gift on this card.  Aren’t these blossoms beautiful?

I had never tried the stained glass technique before.  (Yes, I know I’ve been doing this for over 11 years!)  It’s SO simple and turns out gorgeous!  I stamped the image on a piece of Vellum Card Stock and embossed it with White Embossing Powder.  Then I turned the vellum over and colored the image from the back!  I will confess that I used my Blendabilities on this card but you can certainly do it with regular markers too.

I can’t believe it’s Easter weekend already! How did that happen?  Are you ready?  In honor of the holiday my son and husband made beer yesterday.  They’re calling it Good Friday IPA.Kyle.0415  I hope it turns out!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

The Butterflies are Coming!

IMG_5818Woo Hoo!  Spring is officially here, the weather is cooperating, Easter is on Sunday and the Butterfly Thinlits are on their way to the Stampin’ Up! warehouse!  Woo Hoo!

I love these Butterfly Thinlits and am SO glad that I’ll be able to use them in class again.  I hated using them when people couldn’t purchase them.

Today’s card is a soft and pretty collage card.  The Butterfly Basics stamp set is perfect for collage cards.  Yes, I know, you basically stamp randomly (which I have BIG trouble with) when you’re making a collage card but I do like working with this stamp set.  Don’t you love the combination of Baked Brown Sugar and Coastal Cabana?  If you love these colors you may want to purchase them soon.  They’re leaving us as of May 31st.  Don’t wait until the last minute though.  Once the list of retiring items arrives in early May these colors will go FAST!

I’m just smiling as I write this.  The sun is shining and this card just shouts “happiness” to me.   Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Butterfly Basics and the Butterfly Thinlits

IMG_5815I absolutely LOVE the Butterfly Thinlits and the Butterfly Basics Stamp Set.  Yep.  When I first saw them in the catalog I didn’t think I’d need them.  Once again, I was wrong.  This happens to me a lot doesn’t it?  Sheesh!  I should just plan on purchasing everything in a catalog when they come out.  It would definitely make my life easier.  Ha!

You’ve probably heard that the Butterfly Thinlits aren’t available to purchase at this time.  Well, that’s about to change in the near future!  Woo Hoo!  Stampin’ Up!’s shipment of these items is on it’s way.  They’re not sure when they’ll actually arrive but the time is getting closer as to when we can once again order these fabulous items!  🙂

If you’ve been waiting bated breath to be able to order these items and would like to know when they’re here please send me an email at cindy@stampbystampcreations.com and I’ll let you know when you can order them.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Best Day Ever CASE

IMG_5901CASE.  Copy and Share Everything!

That’s what I did here.  I started with the first card you see here.  If you check out the sample on page 3 of the Sale-a-bration Brochure you’ll see that my card is pretty darn close to Stampin’ Up!’s sample.  It’s a nice card but I like layers and ribbon so I came up with the second card you see here.  Close, but not quite the same.

Best Day Ever.0315I made these cards for my Opportunity Event because I wanted to show how you don’t have to come up with original designs.  You can either just borrow someone’s design directly or use it as a starting point for your own design like I did.  Some people might like the cleaner look of the first card and some might like the layered look on the second card.  There’s so many choices and options in creating.  I love it!

Which card is more your style?  Leave me a comment and let me know!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Cheerful Critters Easter Card

Cheerful Critters.0315Hello!   I think I might have to introduce myself again.  It seems I’ve forgotten how to add a post to my blog.  Sheesh!  So sorry about that!  Life keeps getting in the way.  I’m sure many of you have the same problem.  Too many things to do….not enough hours in the day.  Well, at least I can say I’m not bored!

With all of my busy-ness I don’t even have anything too exciting to share.  No trips, no big excitement.  Just busy.  That’s ok though.

I did host a new event this past week though.  I hosted an Opportunity Event on Tuesday and I had 13 people attend!  Woo Hoo!.  It was an event where I shared my love of stamping, Stampin’ Up! and being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.  I had this whole agenda written down so I wouldn’t forget anything but everyone kept asking all of these wonderful questions that covered everything on the agenda so I didn’t have to follow it!  🙂

Of course there were door prizes, food and two cards to make!  You can’t get stampers together without stamping!  I would say the event was successful.  I had one person come all ready to sign up and I helped her sign up when the event was over.  Annie D. is now an official member of the SASsy Stampers!  I also had a couple of other gals quite interested in signing up for the 20% discount.  Really….how can you go wrong getting a 20% discount on all of your Stampin’ Up! purchases?!  Actually, that’s why I first signed up.  I wanted everything in the catalog and that 20% discount was the easiest way to do it!  🙂

If you’ve ever thought about becoming a demonstrator (can you say 20% discount?) and would like a little more information about it please contact me.  Leave a comment, email me at cindy@stampbystampcreations.com or give me a call at 303-470-5989.  I’d love to have you join my team of SASsy Stampers!

Today’s card is one we made in our Easter & Spring class.  These little critters are ADORABLE!  Of course I didn’t need them when I first saw them in the catalog…..we know how that works!  Ha!  The Cheerful Critters stamp set is photopolymer so it was SO easy to first stamp the sentiment on the card and them center the box around it.  I love things that make life easier!  🙂

Well, I’ve rambled on long enough.  Have a great day, take care and Happy Stamping!  And don’t forget to contact me if you’re interested in or have questions on becoming a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator!  I know you’ll love it as much as I do!  🙂

3 x 3 Thursday: You Brighten My Day!

IMG_5836I LOVE CASEing!  Copy and Share Everything!  I got this idea out of our demonstrator magazine Stampin’ Success.  This is a magazine we receive every two months.  It’s great!  It contains TONS of ideas on how to run our businesses as well as TONS of project ideas.   I LOVE it!  🙂

Naturally I had to change Stampin’ Up!’s sample a little bit….not too much but just a little.  They had all of the little rows of hearts randomly stamped on one half of the little card.  You know me and randomly, it just doesn’t work so I put all of my little hearts in a row.  I loved the way the artist rubbed a little color into the punched label to tie it in with the color of the card.  Very clever!  🙂

This stamp set, You Brighten My Day, is one of the Sale-a-bration items you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase through the end of March.  Free stuff!  Yeah!  🙂  Don’t miss out!  Place your Sale-a-bration order today!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Best Day Ever!

IMG_5125Time is running out for Sale-a-bration this year.  Don’t miss out!  Be sure to get your Sale-a-bration items before March 31st!

On today’s card I’ve used the Best Day Ever! Sale-a-bration stamp set.  It’s pretty darn fun.  Look at these adorable little flowers I used on the card!  This card just screams SPRING, doesn’t it?  With the colors and the little flowers how can you not start thinking Spring?  🙂

I’ve started using white for a lot of my card bases.  I think that’s pretty funny because I used to steer clear of white.  I thought it too stark.  Now I can’t seem to get enough of it.  That’s probably a good thing.  I have a group at church that makes cards for the office to use and the gals in the office like the white card bases so there’s room on the card for everyone in the office to sign.  I used to struggle coming up with cards with white bases but not anymore!  🙂

The lovely spring colors I used on the card are Calypso Coral and Coastal Cabana.  Coastal Cabana is one of the In-Colors that will be going away on May 31st so don’t miss out if you don’t already have it.  (Just a hint!)

The designer paper and the ribbon are Sale-a-bration items also.  They are from the Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper and the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  Gotta love those COORDINATING Sale-a-bration items!  🙂

Don’t forget to place your $50 order so you can get your FREE Sale-a-bration item!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Sale-a-bration: Big Day!

IMG_5132Did you know that there are less than 5 weeks left of Sale-a-bration and your chance to earn FREE product?  Yikes!  Don’t miss out!  Check out the Sale-a-bration Brochure today and see what products you can choose simply by placing a $50 order!

On this card I used the fun Big Day stamp set that you can find on page 12 in the Sale-a-bration Brochure.  This is just one of the fun images.  On the inside of the card I’ve stamped “and perhaps a little ice cream!”  Too fun!

Can you ever have enough birthday cards?  I don’t think so.  This is a fun one that you can make in any color combination.  I colored in the banner and the word CAKE with my Calypso Coral Blendabilities marker.  Did you know that you can choose a set of Blendabilities markers as your free item during Sale-a-bration?  Woo Hoo!  I LOVE my Blendabilities!

What do you think of that cute bow?  That’s made with the fun new Bow Builder Punch found in the Occasions Catalog.  So many fun new products!  I LOVE it!  🙂

Don’t miss out on Sale-a-bration!  There’s less than 5 weeks left!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Think Spring!

IMG_5134Think Spring!

That’s not what’s happening around here.  It was for the past few days because the weather has been gorgeous but those pesky weather people are predicting a “Big Storm”.  They’re saying up to 16″ is possible by Sunday.  I know….this is nothing compared to what the East Coast has been getting hit with but since we’ve had a pretty wimpy winter so far this is something to talk about.  I’ll let you know how those weather predictions panned out!  🙂

This gorgeous card is made using the Sale-a-bration stamp set Lotus Blossom.  It’s not a 2-step stamping stamp set, it’s a 3-step stamping stamp set!  Yep!  3-step stamping.  You use three different stamps to get that gorgeous blossom.  With most 2-step stamping you just ink up each individual stamp and stamp away.  You do that with 3-step stamping too…..except when you use really dark colors.  On this blossom I actually stamped off.  The first stamp I stamped on the card stock full strength.  The second stamp I stamped off once and the third stamp I actually stamped off twice.  You really need to play a little with the different colors to figure out how much, if any, you need to stamp off.  It all depends on the look you’re going for.

The gorgeous designer paper is from the Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper.  I need to say it again…..GORGEOUS!   Of course it coordinates perfectly with the Painted Petals stamp set and the Spring Flowers Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.  Coordination!  Woo Hoo!

Did you notice the pretty little jewels on the card?  Did you notice that they’re purple?  I colored them with my Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities Markers!  They’ll color almost anything!  Did you know that the Blendabilities are items that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration with a $50 order?  Yep!  FREE!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

3″ x 3″ Thursday: Birthday Bash!

IMG_5757It’s a fun and simple card for 3″ x 3″ Thursday!  The design is from the fun, new specialty designer paper Birthday Bash!  This set of papers contain bright and fun designs perfect for birthdays and other celebrations.

Designer paper is my go-to when I need a quick and easy card.  This card was perfect for the last batch of thank you notes that I like to include with orders….especially since I almost forgot to include them.  Yikes!

The ribbon on the card just finishes off this card perfectly.   Have I ever mentioned that I LOVE ribbon?  🙂  Yep!  I’m the one who designs a project around the colors and types of ribbons she has on hand!  Ha!

I’m looking forward to creating this weekend.  It’s time to start planning my upcoming classes.  I can’t wait!  I haven’t had a chance to just sit down and “play” for an awfully long time!  I’ve figured out that I’ve been on three different trips in the last six weeks.  Wow!  I think it’s time to stay home and get things done!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Happy Valentines Day!

IMG_5082Isn’t this card adorable?!!!  How clever!  This is a swap I received from Amanda, another demonstrator.  This card gets a TSC award.  Too Stinkin’ Cute!

I thought it was a perfect card to post on Valentine’s Day because back in the day when my husband and I were young pups and dating this was our song.  Do you remember “You Light Up My Life” by Debbie Boone?  Hopefully not….that would mean that you’re as old as I am!  Ha!

Anyway, I thought it was so clever to make a little lamp and add the new Calypso Coral Pompom Trim as the cord!  Can you tell how tickled I am with this card?  I LOVE it!  I hope you do too!  The saying is from the new stamp set One Tag Fits All.

Go spend some time with your sweetie and have a wonderful Valentines Day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

More Wood You Be Mine?

IMG_5067IMG_5077  Valentine’s Day is just a few days away.  Here’s a couple of fun valentines made using my favorite new stamp set “Wood You Be Mine”.

These cards don’t use the fun and handsome lumberjack but they’re still pretty darn cute.   I received both of these cards in a swap I participated in.

It’s fun too see how different the piece of wood looks in the two cards.  Aren’t the two sayings fun?  I’m not sure which one I like best.  How about you?  Leave me a comment and let me know which of these cards you like best?

Do you have any special Valentine’s Day plans?  We don’t.  We go out to dinner a bunch while we’re up here at our time share so we’ll probably just stay in and relax a little more.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

You Brighten My Day!

IMG_5121Who doesn’t LOVE Sale-a-bration?  Check out this fun little stamp set, You Brighten My Day, that you can get for FREE with a $50 purchase!  I love FREE stuff….do you?

I started with a notecard for this little card.  The designer paper and the ribbon are also Sale-a-bration items that you can get for FREE!.  They are the Best Year Ever Designer Paper and the Best Year Ever Accessory Pack.  The accessory pack is great because you get THREE rolls of ribbon and THREE small packages of buttons!  Wow!

I stamped the light bulb and the saying on Whisper White card stock and punched them out with the Note Tag Punch.  Too cute!

I colored the light bulb with the dark Daffodil Delight Blendabilities marker.  I LOVE Blendabilities!  You can do so much with them!  Did you know that Blendabiities markers are also items you can get for FREE during Sale-a-bration?  How great is that?!!!

Start making that wish list now so you can get some FREE stuff!
