Orlando Treats

When my friends and I attend Stampin’ Up! events we like to make treats for each other.  We don’t necessarily make them for the treats they contain but we love to make the holders for the treats!

Treat.Janet1aThis fun and simple treat holder was made my downline Janet.  ADORABLE!  So simple!  A cello bag, a couple of circle punches, a piece of ribbon and some Goldfish crackers with Mickey ears in them!  She found the crackers at the local grocery store.  Too fun!  You can’t go to Orlando without thinking about Mickey!

Treat.Laura2aMy friend Laura brought us these yummy cookies that a friend of her’s made and decorated.  Aren’t they gorgeous?  Another amazing treat!  “Love It, Live It, Share It” is Stampin’ Up’s theme this year.  Laura shared these fun cookies in one of Stampin’ Up! Pizza Boxes that she decorated.  It fit perfectly!

Treat.Jan1aJan brought us cookies too in this fun treat bag to remind us to celebrate Stampin’ Up!’s 30th Anniversary.

Aren’t my friends creative?  It’s always fun to see what kind of treats they bring to Stampin’ Up! events.  Of course that puts the pressure on me to come up with a fun idea or two.  I did bring a couple of treats for my friends.  I can’t decide though whether to share them with you this week or save them and surprise you sometime.  Hmmm…

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Fab Friday: Joyous Noel Gift Bag

camp bag 2We all love to see those over-the-top project ideas.  My friend Jan is the queen of fabulous ideas for our group Stamp Camps we put on for our customers.  Each camp we (I should say Jan) come up with an idea to decorate the bag we give each attendee so they have something to put their completed projects in.  This GORGEOUS bag was what our customers received at the Holiday Stamp Camp we put on a few weeks ago.  Don’t you wish you had been there?

Jan used a number of products from the Joyous Noel Suite on this project.  The ribbon, the glimmer paper and the Sprig Punch are all from the suite.  She used the Tin Tile Embossing Folder (pg 43 HC) from the County Lane Suite and the deer is die cut from the Detailed Deer Thinlits (pg 9 HC).  Jan and her husband have a lot of trees on their property so one day when they were hauling brush she kept aside some branches and had her husband slice them up for her.

I love this gift bag.  It’s absolutely AMAZING!  Wouldn’t you like to receive it on Christmas?  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

I Love Copper!

Well, I had a really hard time coming up with my favorite product for this suite…everything is so gorgeous!  I love copper and all of the products in this suite (except the stamp set and punch) have some touch of copper!  What’s a girl to do.  I almost had to do “eenie meenie minie moe” to choose one but I finally settled on:

147816GThe Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper!  (#147816 $14) Oh, my!  Look at all of those amazing patterns!

I know, I chose the designer paper in the Festive Farmhouse Suite last week but when you like something you’ve got to go with it!

boxesDesigner Paper is so versatile.  Sure, it can add pizzazz to a card but it’s also great on 3D items.  Check out these boxes that I found on Pinterest!  Thank you Sam Hammond Donald for sharing such beautiful projects!

These boxes were all made with the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper and coordinating cardstock and embellishments.  You can find everything but the cardstock and the Tranquil Tide ribbon in the Joyous Noel Suite on page 29 of the Holiday Catalog.

I’m definitely stocking up on these fun coppery products.  I love them!  Have you added them to your list?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

World Card Making Day & the Holiday Catalog

10.01.18_SHAREABLE_WCMD_NAHave you heard that it’s World Card Making Day on Saturday?  It is, and Stampin’ Up! is celebrating all week!  With a sale!  Woo Hoo!  A sale!

From the title of this post you may think that the items included in the sale are from the Holiday Catalog, but they’re not.  However….the products included in the sale will definitely help you make your projects using products from the Holiday Catalog.  There are card kits, stamp sets, 12″ x 12″ cardstock, note cards & envelopes and adhesive!  To see all of these sale items just click here or go to the link you find at the top of this page.

This week we’ve been talking about the Toil & Trouble Suite from the Holiday Catalog and all things Halloween.  Watch this fun, short video featuring products from the Holiday Catalog.  Be sure to watch until the end so you can see the Toil & Trouble Suite!

Yesterday I talked about my favorite product from this suite, the Black 3/8″ Glittered Organdy Ribbon (147897 $8.50) and how versatile it is.  I’m excited to try it out on a birthday or some kind of celebration card.

Takeout Thinlits.2Another versatile product from this suite is the Takeout Treats Bundle (W-#149989 $56.50 C-#149990 $49.50).  It’s perfect for Halloween and Halloween treats but if you take a look at the bundle you see that it already includes Takeout1stamps and framelits for other holidays as well as general uses.  I’m excited to give this bundle a try.  In fact I just ordered it yesterday!  Do you have it on your wish list or order yet?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Quick & Easy Hostess Gift

Year of Cheer Hostess GIftSimple.  Quick.  Easy.  These are the words we like to hear this time of year!  You’re heading to yet another holiday party and you forgot to pick up a hostess gift.  What are you going to do?  Well, you’re heading to your craft room of course!

This happened to me last weekend.  Yikes!  What can I make in a hurry so we won’t be too late to the party?  Well, it’s the gorgeous Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper to the rescue along with the Acetate Card Boxes!  Add some shiny Gold Foil Sheets and Thick Whisper White cardstock, some retired ribbon and a tag.  You’re done!

I made 5 cards exactly the same.  I cut a piece of designer paper 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ and layered it on a 5″ x 3 3/4″ piece of Gold Foil Sheet then adhered both to the front of a Thick Whisper White card.  That was it!  The designer paper is so gorgeous I didn’t need anything else for the cards.

I put the cards in my acetate box (love these!) and wrapped a piece of ribbon around it and tied a bow.  My gift was done!  I love it when a plan comes together!  🙂

The Year of Cheer Designer Series Paper is retiring so get it while you can!  Stampin’ Up! does carry ribbons currently that I could have used but since I didn’t take the time to decorate the box I wanted a wider ribbon.

Enjoy this last week of holiday parties and be safe!  Have a great day.  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Tutorial Tuesday: Origami Treat Holder

As I promised yesterday I have a quick tutorial for you on how to make the cute Origami Treat Holder I posted.  Four quick folds and you’re done!

Before I get started I need to apologize about my photos.  Not sure why they’re all different colors.  Hmmm…. I guess I better work on that.  Sorry!

Origami.1Start with a 6″ by 6″ piece of designer series paper.

Origami.2Turn your paper on the diagonal.  I found that making this treat holder on grid paper makes it so much easier.

Origami.3Take the bottom point of your diagonal square and fold it up to meet the top point so that you have a triangle.

Origami.4

This is the step where your grid paper really comes in handy.  Take the point on the right and fold it up to a point and the left leg of your triangle.  You’ll know you’re in the right spot when the top edge of the piece you’re working with is completely horizontal (line up perfectly with a grid mark) and parallel with the bottom edge of your triangle.

Origami.5Now take the left corner and fold it over so that the top edge will line up with the top edge of the right side and your point will meet at the point of the fold on the right.

Origami.6The final step is to take the top point and fold it towards the bottom edge of your treat holder along the top horizontal edge.

That’s it!  Now you can decorate as you please!  I did find that it wants to unfold so what I do is just stick my fingers in the opening and kind of flex the front out a little and it should stay folded.  Easy Peasy!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Basket Bunch Treat Holder

Basket Builder Origami.0417Whew!  Easter is over.  I’ve had a busy couple of weeks.  First I was in the MN Homeland for a week and when I came home it was Holy Week already.  That meant a long choir rehearsal on Wednesday, singing in a cantata on Good Friday and two early services on Sunday…and that was just the church stuff!  I had to hit the grocery store and make deviled eggs, Frango Mint Cheesecake and Easter potatoes for dinner yesterday!  Like I said…whew!  Now I can just sit back and enjoy life.

Easter is over but I still wanted to share with you this adorable little treat holder.  I made this for my table mates at the On Stage event in Minneapolis.  This was one of those projects that made me all happy when I finished it.  It turned out so dang cute!

This little folded treat holder is SO easy.  I will make a little tutorial today and share it with you tomorrow instead of trying to explain it here without pictures.

My favorite part of this treat holder is the little label with the chocolate bunny.  The bunny and the sentiment are both from the wonderful Basket Bunch Bundle.  FYI…the Basket Builder Bundle (which includes the Basket Bunch stamp set and the Basket Builder framelits) is on the retiring list but as of today both of these items are still available.  If you purchase them separately, the stamp set is 20% off and the framelits are 50% off!  These are great items for you stash as Easter does come around every year!  🙂

You can shop right here in my online store!  Don’t miss out on these fun items.  How can you resist that cute little chocolate bunny and that fabulous sentiment! 🙂

Say…did you notice that my bunny is kind of shiny and looks more 3D?  Well…let me tell you how I did that….

After I stamped the bunny and die cut him I colored his eye with my Chalk Marker and my Basic Black Marker.  Then I took my Fine-Tip Glue Pen and “colored” him in!  Do you remember Crystal Effects?  It works just like that to give the raised, shiny look!  How fun is that?  You’ll have to try it on something!

Don’t forget to buy the Basket Bunch stamp set and the Basket Builder framelits at those fabulous low prices!  You’re going to want them next Easter!  🙂

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Hey, Chick Barn

untitled.1

Is this not one of the cutest things you’ve ever seen?!!!  If you don’t have the Sale-a-bration stamp set Hey, Chick you are going to want it now!  The Hey, Chick stamp set was definitely the first Sale-a-bration item I had to have.  I love those chicks and am going to be very sad to see them go!

Wouldn’t it be fun to make something clever like this?  You can find all of the details here.  It looks like this project was a collaboration.  Very talented souls.  That’s for sure!  I have seen a lot of sampler type projects around on the internet.  I’m going to have to put my thinking cap on sometime and create one….maybe even offer a class!  🙂

Don’t miss out on Sale-a-bration!  It’s over on March 31st.  That will be the last day you can get the adorable Hey, Chick stamp set and other fun items.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Popcorn Treat

Camp Popcorn Box.0217At my team Stamp Camps we serve a lunch and also an afternoon treat.  During our past camps we’ve had delicious decorated cookies but for this camp my friend Jan made these fun little popcorn boxes with yummy caramel corn.

Jan used the Popcorn Box Thinlits found on page 191 of the Annual Catalog.  Aren’t they cute?  I actually don’t have these thinlits but they’re definitely on my wish list now!  There’s also a stamp set that coordinates with the thinlits called Ready to Pop.  You can get them together in a bundle for 10% off!  How great is that?!  You can check out the stamp set and the bundle on page 17 of the Annual Catalog.

Everything Jan used on these cute little boxes is current except for the ribbon she used to wrap the cello bag.  The ribbon on the box itself is actually a Sale-a-bration item that you can get for FREE with $50 order.  The Ready to Pop Bundle is only $44 so if add a package of designer paper or card stock you’ll be at the $50 and can get the Sale-a-bration ribbon or any other Sale-a-bration item for FREE!

Hmmm….I’m getting hungry for popcorn!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Succulent Garden

Succulent.Camp.0217Yesterday I mentioned that my team held a Stamp Camp this past weekend.  A few of our team members got together and made these gorgeous centerpieces for some of the tables.

Wow!  You should see them in person!  Laura, Cindy and Keri used the Succulent Framelits Dies to create these.  Not only did they die cut all of the pieces but inked the pieces to give them dimension and assembled each flower before assembling the whole bouquet.  A lot of work, but definitely worth the effort.

Succulents are big these days.  The Occasions Catalog has an entire suite called Succulent Garden.  You can check it out starting on page 20 of the catalog.  I personally haven’t had a chance to play with this suite but I’m looking forward to it.  Have you played with it yet?  If you have I’d love to see what you’ve done!  Email me a picture to cindy@stampbystampcreations.com.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Here’s to Cheers!

heres-to-cheers-1-1116Can you believe that Christmas Eve is in one week?!!!  Yikes!  The holiday parties are winding down but if you have a few left then today’s project will be perfect.

It’s a wine tag made with the Here’s to Cheer’s Bundle.  An all tag bundle:  stamps and COORDINATING framelits!  How perfect for holiday giving!  You can make wine tags as well as regular gift tags for gifts.  There’s even a stamp for a food gift that says “Wishing You a Scrumptious Christmas Season”.

Of course my favorite is the wine tag.  🙂

This tag was pretty easy to make.  The hardest part was getting pieces and parts to adhere to the glimmer paper.  Most everything heres-to-cheers-1116on this tag is glimmery!  Why not, it’s CHRISTMAS!!!  You just need to make sure and use a good liquid glue.

I like how the ribbon slides through the tag and adds a little more “wrapping” to the tag.

Well, it’s darn right cold out here in Denver this morning.  My phone says -2 degrees.  We’re spoiled….it doesn’t usually get this cold.  I know….I’m from the MN Homeland but I’ve been in Colorado for over 21 years and I guess my blood has thinned.  Yes.  I’ve become a weenie.

I do have to go out later this morning.  I’m hanging out with some gals from church and we’re making lefse!  I can’t wait!  I love to eat lefse but I’ve never made it.   It should be a fun time.  I hear that some eggnog will be involved too!  🙂

Stay warm!  I know I’m going to try to.  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Candy Cane Lane Gift Tag

candy-cane-christmas-1116Easy Peasy!  Who doesn’t love that?

Does this tag look a tad bit familiar?  It should if you’ve scoped out all of the samples in the Holiday Catalog.  (Check page 4!)  Why go to all of the trouble of  designing when there is a perfectly good sample to copy?

There are so many samples in Stampin’ Up! catalogs and so many styles too.  That’s the great thing about SU catalogs….not only do you get to check out great products but you also get to check out great samples for those products!

The only thing I did differently on my tag than what they had in the catalog was I added the red scalloped circle behind the stamped white image.  That’s it!

It was kind of funny in class when we made these.  I usually tell people to stamp your image first and then punch our die cut but in this case I had them die cut the circle first, then stamp to make sure they’d be able to get both the image and the candy on the circle.

Another little thing that I did on the tag was that I first adhered the loop of baker’s twine onto a piece of Thick Whisper White card stock.  I then adhered the designer paper so that the twine was sandwiched between the two papers.  Other than that the tag is pretty straight forward….perfect for Simple Saturday!  🙂

I’m having a little team gathering this morning.  We’re going to have brunch and then make a few cards using products from the new upcoming Occasions Catalog.  It should be a fun time.  Be sure to let me know if you’d like your very own copy of the new Occasions Catalog and the 2017 Sale-a-bration Brochure.  I’ll make sure you get a copy!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Burlap Wreath Ornament

burlap-wreath-1216Yesterday there was a little Christmas party for the ladies at church.  We were suppose to bring an ornament for an exchange.  I wasn’t sure what I was going to bring for my ornament but then I remembered that I had seen a really cute little ornament on a demonstrator-only Facebook page.

Of course I had to scroll and scroll and scroll through things to find it.  (I had saved it but it was a long time ago!).  Once I saw it again I knew I wanted to try to make it.  Lucky for me the gal had included a link to a video where she learned to make it.  The video shows you how to make a full size wreath using a wire coat hanger and thick burlap ribbon but I was able to shrink it down to use Stampin’ Up!’s burlap ribbon!  🙂

Here’s the link to the video.  It is pretty easy.  The beauty of making this wreath is that you really can’t screw it up!  It’s not suppose to look absolutely perfect.  I just kept added ribbon to my wire until it looked full.  Then I put some glue across the end of the ribbon to keep it from fraying.

I decorated my wreath with Real Red Satin Ribbon and the Mini Jingle Bells.  I used my Tombow Multipurpose Liquid glue to put the bells and bow on the wreath.  I also used it to stick the ends together around the looped hanger.  Pretty darn cute!  Give it a try.  When you’re done, send me a picture of how you decorated it!  I’d love to see it!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Thankful, Grateful & Blessed

thanksgiving-paper-pumpkin-1116Happy Thanksgiving!  It’s fairly early in the morning and I need to sit down and make my to-do list.  But first I want to let you know that I am truly Thankful, Grateful and Blessed for you, my friends and customers, as well as for everything I have in my life including my Stampin’ Up! business.

This fun little treat holder is from the September Paper Pumpkin Kit!  Yep!  I fell in love with those fun, little test tubes and I had to use them for something.  I didn’t have enough to fill with Halloween treats for the munchkins but I thought I might be able to use them for my Thanksgiving table.

The “grateful” stamp is a very old Stampin’ Up! stamp that I’ve been hanging to for a quite a while.  It sure did come in handy for my Thanksgiving treats.  The M & M’s fit perfectly in the test tubes.  I stocked up the fall M & M’s when they first came out.  When I bought them I had no idea what I would do with them.  I bought about 6 bags and have tons left over as we have a small group of only 18 people joining us for Thanksgiving dinner.  Oh, well.  Better safe than sorry, right?  🙂

I wish you all a wonderful, blessed, thankful holiday!

Cookie Cutter Halloween for Fall!

cookie-cutter-halloween-treat-1116When I saw this cute treat holder online I wanted to try to recreate it for my Thanksgiving table.  The original (from the talented Lori Heiling) was a Christmas design.  I searched my stamp sets for something that said Thanksgiving or Fall and finally decided on the adorable little scarecrow from the Cookie Cutter Halloween stamp set.

The little treat holder is SO simple.  Just start with a piece of card stock that is 2″ x 8″.  Score at 3 1/4″ and 4 3/4″ and then punch the ends with your Scallop Tag Topper Punch.  Fold along the score lines and add some ribbon to keep it closed!  That’s it!!! So simple.  So cute!  🙂

I wrapped my Hershey nuggets with the Petals & Paisley Designer Series Paper.  I put down a little strip of Tear & Tape and then placed two Hershey Nuggets side by side on the bottom of the treat holder (vertically).  Then I put a little piece of Tear & Tape on the bottom of a third Nugget and placed on top of the other two going in the other direction (horizontally).

To tie my wrapped Nuggets in with the focal point I punched out a 1 3/4″ circle of the same designer paper and adhered it to the front of my treat holder.  Then it was time to stamp, color and punch out my adorable little scarecrow with the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch.  The little crow finishes the project off perfectly, although I did have to fussy cut him!  🙂

So not that I’ve shared this adorable little treat holder with you I have to confess that I’m not using him on my Thanksgiving table.  I’ll show you that tomorrow.

cookie-cutter-halloween-1116But look!  I used the same design on a card!  I sent this card to some of my team members who helped with Stamp Camp last month.  Simple and cute!  My favorite type of card to mass produce!

Have you checked out Stampin’ Up!’s Online Extravaganza yet!  Oh my!  So many fabulous products on sale and so little time!  You better get that order in soon so you don’t miss out!  🙂

Have a great day!  Be Thankful!
