3 x 3 Thursday: Wetlands

026Another 3 x 3 Thursday and another cute and simple card.  These little cards are easy to make and fun to give.  I know that my customers enjoy getting them with their orders.  It’s a nice little surprise.  Have I mentioned that I don’t write in the little card itself?  I write on a sticky note so then the recipient can reuse it!   I’ve heard of some people doing this with full size cards.

I used the Wetlands stamp set for the grains and the Says It All stamp set for the sentiment.   The yellow is the new Hello Honey.  I think of it as a softer, lighter More Mustard.  Very nice.  Which color do you prefer?  The new Hello Honey or the old More Mustard?  I love to hear what you think?  Leave a comment and let me know!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Swipe!

032It’s Technique Tuesday and I have a fun and simple technique for you.  Swiping!  At least that what I call it….

This is another card we made at our event on Saturday.  My friend and convention roomie, Laura C., designed this card.  Isn’t it beautiful?

Laura used the “Swiping” technique on this card.  She started by simply swiping the opened So Saffron ink pad across the top of the Whisper White card stock and then repeating the technique on the bottom with the Pool Party ink pad.  How fun is that?  The Old Olive ink is sponged to form the grass.  Wow!  Simple yet striking!  I love it!

The birds and grasses are from the Wetlands stamp set.  The sentiment is from the And Many More stamp set.  I told you we had fun on Saturday!  🙂

Time to get ready for today’s classes.  It should be interesting because they closed my street to resurface it!  I hope the girls don’t have to walk to far to get to my house!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Day Late and a Dollar Short…..

030OK…I’m not really a dollar short but I just had to finish the saying.  Once again I am a day late though.   I think it’s my theme for the week.  Hmmm…..

It’s Technique Tuesday on Wednesday!  Why not?!  You don’t really care.  You just want to see what adorable project I have for you today!  🙂

For today’s project I used the wonderful Wetlands stamp set.  This set is great for guy cards and sympathy cards.

We made this card at classes last week and I may use it for some of my swaps for convention.  I’m still contemplating that.

Don’t you love the Soft Sky background that the birds are stamped on?  Let me tell you how I did it.  It’s simple and fun!  Open up your Soft Sky ink pad.  Now take a piece of wide blue painter’s tape a little longer than the length of the ink pad.  Lay the tape, sticky side down, on the ink pad and lightly press down.  Remove the tape and place it on your card stock.  Lightly press the tape down and remove it.  Ta da!  You now have a beautiful background for your birds!

Isn’t that a fun technique?  Like I mentioned before, it’s simple and fun!  Give it a try on your own project then send me a picture of your project to cindy@stampbystampcreations.com.  I’d love to see it!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
