Totally Trees

I guess I should have been looking at this card while we had our frigid cold snap last week!  This would have warmed me up….dreaming of sitting on a sandy beach with the sun shining down on me.  Oh, well.  I can dream now!  🙂

This warm and easy card was made using Stampin’ Up!’s Totally Trees stamp set.  I really like this set and am so sad that it will be gone as of January 4th.  Yes, it’s retiring along with the Holiday Catalog so if you want it, you better order it SOON!

I’m sad to see it go because I’m in love with this palm tree.  The other trees are very nice but this one makes me smile.  How can you not smile thinking of a warm beach (and possibly a frosty drink!)?   I’m pretty sure there’s more than a few of us who would like to be relaxing on a warm beach about now instead running around crazy trying to get ready for the holidays!  🙂

Don’t be sad that you’ve missed out on this stamp set and the others that are retiring as of January 4th.  You only have a few more weeks to get ’em before they’re gone!  Shop now!

Janet, Jan and I are off to Phoenix!  It’s not quite tropical but it’s really, really warm.  It’s been nice at home here in Denver but I’ve been wearing shoes and socks….I’m going to have to paint my toe nails before I head to Phoenix so I can wear sandals!  Just one more thing I have to do before I go!  🙂

This card was made using the new Totally Trees stamp set in the Holiday Catalog.  Isn’t this little palm tree cute?!  It’s the reason I fell in love with the stamp set!  Ha!

I’ll have to put this card out front and center when I actually start counting the days down until our trip to Thailand!  I don’t think I’ll start counting quite yet.  The trip isn’t until July!

This card was the first time I used the Seaside Embossing Folder.  Isn’t it fun?!

I need to start out this post by saying that the picture doesn’t do this card justice.  It is stunning!  Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together?  I designed this card for a swap when the Holiday Catalog first came out.  Totally Trees was the first stamp set I knew I had to have from the catalog.

I really fell in love with the palm tree from this stamp set but this tree with the heat embossed copper leaves was what I knew I had to use for the card.  After embossing the tree I just had to grab some of the new Copper Foil Sheets.  Oo La La!  They’re gorgeous!

I’m sorry to keep going on and on about this card but I think it’s one of my absolute favorites of all the cards I’ve made….and I’ve made a lot of cards!  🙂

This was my other card that we used at Stamp Camp and everyone loved it.  It’s easy to make and as I’ve mentioned before….it’s stunning.

One little tip I’d like to share with you is that when die cutting the foil sheets you really should use clean cutting pads for your Big Shot…especially the top one that touches your foil sheet.  Otherwise all of those little cuts in the cutting pad get etched into your foil…..not a good look.
