Happiest of Days

Happiest of Days.0617It’s always someone’s birthday, right?  Yesterday was my nephew’s birthday and today it’s my crazy friend Amy’s birthday.  Happy Birthday to all!

The Happiest of Birthday’s stamp set was one of the first stamp sets in the new catalog to catch my eye.  (page 70)  It has a couple of fun images of a cake and gifts but it also has some sweet floral and sentiment images.  I’m going to be using this stamp set for my swaps for Stampin’ Up!’s Thailand Incentive Trip.  I have the card designed and will share it with you soon.  I just need to start working on all the cards for the swap!  I guess I’ll get to that after I’m organized for tomorrow’s classes!

Yes, I’m starting to go a little crazy.  I’m trying to plan classes, make swaps AND get ready for my trip to Thailand!  Yikes!  It’ll all get done though. No worries!  🙂

This is one of the cards we’ll be making at classes tomorrow.  I tell you….you can never have enough birthday cards!  I used the fun cake image that I mentioned above as well as the equally fun Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper.  You really must check it out.  So many fun patterns and colors!

Don’t you just love the Night of Navy Crinkled Seam Binding?!  It’s so soft and FUN!  The Crinkled Seam Binding also comes in Berry Burst, Emerald Envy and Peekaboo Peach and I have them all!  I told you that the ribbons are the first things I purchase from a new catalog!

This was a fun card to make and pretty easy too.  I hope you like it.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Birthday Adventures Card

Balloon Adventures.0117You can never have enough birthday cards on hand.  Someone you know just had, is having or will have a birthday soon.  I can’t seem to keep up.  How do you do with sending out your birthday cards?

Today’s card is one we made at my recent Card Buffet.  No punching or die-cutting.  Just a few layers, some designer paper and a quick bow.

It’s easy to come up with a color combination for a card when you start with designer paper.  These two papers are from the Party Animal Designer Series Paper Pack.  This package of designer paper uses fun colors like Pacific Point and Tangerine Tango that you see on this card.  I really like when Stampin’ Up! comes out with new papers because a lot of time they use colors that I don’t often use.   For example on this card….orange isn’t usually my go-to color unless its October and I’m making Halloween cards but it sure makes this card pop!  Pacific Point also isn’t one of my go-to colors.  If I need a blue I usually start with Night of Navy.  I like when I can get out of my box.

Do you have a favorite designer series paper from the new Occasions Catalog?  I haven’t quite decided what mine is yet.  I love the bright colors in the Party Animal package (pg 5) and the Bohek designs in the Falling in Love package (pg. 51)are gorgeous.  The color combinations in the Tasty Treats Specialty package of papers (pg. 33) are yummy and the colors in the Succulent Garden package (pg. 21) are beautiful together.  It’s a really tough choice.  I’ll let you know if I ever make up my mind.  🙂

Have a wonderful, colorful day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Party Wishes Birthday

Party Wishes.0116Does this card look a little familiar?  It should.  I based it on the sample we made at the On Stage Local event in Dallas last November and which I showed you in this post.

Pretty sneaky of me wasn’t it?  Actually I think it was rather clever.  Once again I am going to ask….”why re-invent the wheel”?  If you see a project that you like….copy it!  That’s why we share our ideas!

All of the products used on this card can be found in the “It’s My Party” suite on pages 4-7 of the Occasions Catalog.  Have you checked out the It’s My Party Designer Series Paper Stack yet?  The designs are all so fun and you get 4 sheets of each of the 12 double-sided designs.  That’s 48 sheets of designer paper!  Woo Hoo!

The new little Party Punch Pack is so fun with the little candle, balloon and cupcake punches.  I’m going to say it again…..I LOVE COORDINATION!  Stamps, punches, die-cuts, paper…..things that coordinate make me HAPPY!  🙂

What makes you happy as a stamper?  Leave me a comment and let me know!

Take care and Happy Stamping!
