Basket of Wishes: Strawberries!

YuBasket of Wishes.0517m!  I LOVE strawberries!  My choice for a birthday cake would be angelfood cake with strawberries….unless I could have cheesecake.  Cheesecake always wins hands down!  🙂

Strawberries are so good this time of year so I thought I should (finally) post this card.  Yes, I said finally….we made it in class back in May!  Yikes!  Yep.  I’m a little behind with my blog posts.

All that aside this is a nice summery card on a not so nice summer day.  Cooler temperatures (yeah!) and rain are in our forecast for the day.  I’m going to run some errands and get ready for two classes and a stamping party.  I guess I have to fit cleaning my house in there sometime too.  Oh, well.

When die cutting stamped images it’s usually best to stamp the images and then die cut them but in this case I die cut the Stitched Shapes Circle first and then stamped.  This way I could make sure everything fit into the circle.  I used Shimmery White cardstock so I could watercolor the image.  If you didn’t know, watercoloring on Stampin’ Up!’s regular Whisper White or Very Vanilla cardstock doesn’t work very well because the paper pills and it’s not thick enough.  Shimmery White cardstock gives your card a little sparkle too.  🙂

Well, it’s time to get the show on the road and get busy.  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Water Color Basket of Wishes

basket-of-wishes-camp-1016Stamp Camp is tomorrow!  This is an all-day event that my group of SASsy Stampers & Friends puts on.  My team is the SASsy (Seriously Addicted to Stamping) Stampers but we have so many demo friends that join us that we’ve add “& friends” to our name!  🙂

That’s one of the best things about being part of Stampin’ Up!….the friendships.  I can’t imagine my life without some of these gals.  I love stamping with them, traveling to events with them and just hanging out with them.  They’re all a lot of fun and I wouldn’t have met them without Stampin’ Up!.

Of course the next best thing about being part of Stampin’ Up! is the 20% discount on Stampin’ Up!’s fabulous products!  Who doesn’t love a good discount?!  If you’ve been toying with the idea of being part of Stampin’ Up! and would like more information just click here or check out the link at the top of this page.  The Starter Kit is only $99 and for that amount you get to choose $125 of Stampin’ Up! merchandise.  I’d love to have you on my team!  🙂

So, back to this lovely card.  Yep.  It’s a Cindy original.  The guests at our last Stamp Camp in July loved to water color so I designed another water color card for this camp.  The Basket of Wishes stamp set is perfect for water coloring.  The image even has it’s own shading to make things easier for you.

The card does have a crazy amount of layers on it but that seems to be my thing…the more the better.  Ha!  The hardest part of making this card was figuring out what color to use on what pumpkin/gourd.

Have a wonderful day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Lovely Basket of Wishes

basket-of-wishes-2-0816Do you like to watercolor?  If you do, the new Basket of Wishes stamp set is for you!  The stamp set comes with three different basket images, four different images to “put in” your baskets and four lovely sentiments.  It’s quite versatile, not just for fall.  Besides the basket you see on this card there is a berry basket and a produce basket.  It’s a very nice stamp set.

I really like the Petals & Posies Designer Paper too.  It contains lots of fall colors without just sticking to fall images.  Very nice for this time of year.

I used both an Aqua Painter and a Blender Pen when color my basket of flowers.  Some of the images were just a little too small for to use an Aqua Painter on.  I like to use both tools when coloring.  Which one is your favorite?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!
