Another Simple Saturday!

006I’m getting better at simple cards….or should I say I’m getting better at CASEing simple cards?!  Ha!

This card was pretty easy, especially since I started with one of the notecards.  I’m really liking those little things!

I started by punching out the larger butterfly on the small piece of Whisper White card stock with the Elegant Butterfly Punch.  I stamped my sentiment and then adhered the designer paper to the back of the punched butterfly with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Add the Rich Razzleberry layer, the Bitty Butterfly and a brad.  That’s it!  I told you it was simple!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

A Secret Garden Birthday

005 When I saw this card online I knew I had to CASE it!  Isn’t it beautiful?  It’s not a simple card to make but it sure is pretty!

The flowers are from the Secret Garden stamp set.  I stamped them with Whisper White Craft Ink and embossed them with White Embossing Powder.  Then I rubbed Calypso Coral in over them to add a bit of dimension before die-cutting them with the Secret Garden Framelits.  The “Happy Birthday” is a single stamp called “Beautiful Birthday” on page 44 of the catalog ($6.95).  If you like it, you better order it now because it is on the retired list and won’t appear in the new catalog.

I kind of white-washed the embossed background to soften the look a bit and I rubbed Old Olive Ink on the edges of the leaves to add dimension.   I thought this would have made the perfect Mother’s Day card but I couldn’t find the perfect sentiment for it.   I guess that means I’ll be creating cards for the moms this weekend!  I’ll let you know what I come up with!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Bombs Away Birthday!

010Bombs Away!  Have you checked out this fun new set yet?  It’s another photopolymer stamp set meaning it’s completely clear.  Fun to work with.  You definitely have to try it!  This is a fun set because the sentiments are a little snarky…ones you may not use on your mother’s card.  Ha!  One of my favorites is “Congratulations!  The music you grew up on is now considered Classic Rock”  Too fun!

Besides the stamp set, I used a couple other new products on this card.  The bomb is stamped on the new Smokey Slate card stock.  It’s a nice, soft, pale gray.  Lighter than the old Going Gray.  The other new product is more Washi Tape.  I think Washi Tape is going to be one of my favorite new products!  It’s easy to use and it adds a little zip to your cards.

This Washi Tape is the Epic Day This and That Designer Washi Tape.  It’s part of the This and That product line.  This and That is a fun and quick way to scrapbook.  Check it out hereThese This and That products are from the new catalog coming on May 31st but did you realize that you can buy these products now?  But only through April 30th…after that you’ll have to wait for the new catalog.  The best part about this limited time offer is that if you purchase all 5 products in this line by April 30th you will receive 15% off!  All 5 This and That products for only $32.08!  Such a deal!  Don’t miss out!  Place your order today!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Simple Saturday: Label Love

028It’s time for a new feature that I hope you’ll enjoy.  It’s Simple Saturday!  Sometimes simple is the best.  I have to admit….I have a hard time with simple cards.  I love layers and embellishments!  I’ve found a new “tool” to help me with simple though.  It’s the Note Cards and Envelopes!  They’re great for simple because they’re smaller and I have less area I need to fill!  Ha!

For this cute and very simple card I used three new items that will be showing up in the new 2013-2014 Catalog!  I used the Label Love stamp set, the matching Artisan Label Punch, and the SO much fun new Gingham Garden Washi Tape.  I’ve never used Washi Tape before and I used it on three different cards as I was playing around yesterday.  It’s so much fun and easy to use! You’ll definitely have to try it!

Be sure to keep checking back for more sneak peeks at products from the new catalog.  I went crazy making samples yesterday! 😀  What did you think of Simple Saturday?  Is it helpful?  Leave me a comment and let me know what you think!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Best of Flowers Pop ‘n Cuts Card

007

This is one of my favorite cards from a recent class.  The stamp set is the Best of Flowers.  It’s a definitely a fun new set.  Do you have it yet?

The doily adds a lot to the card but my favorite part of the card is the card itself.  It’s made with the new Pop ‘n Cuts Card Base from the Spring Catalog.  Check out the second picture and you can see the details better.  It’s such a fun new design for a card.  I love the way the little nobs fit into the die-cut slits to keep the card closed.  What do you think of this new die?

009I’m so glad that Wisteria Wonder is staying around.  It’s such a nice soft color.  What color are you glad to see entering the line-up?  I’m excited about the Color Refresh.  There were some colors that I didn’t care for.  I’m excited for all of the new color combinations we’ll have.  How about you?

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Lace Tape Masking

001Hello!  I’m back from Salt Lake City and the regional event.  It was a lot of fun and I learned so much!  Oh yeah….the new catalog is AWESOME!  That’s all I can say about it right now but I don’t think you’ll be disappointed!  😀

I copied this card from my wonderful and talented upline Tara.  Isn’t it cute?  It’s one of the cards we’re making in a private class I’m doing today.  A private class is simply an event for you and your friends.  You pick the day, time and the people you want to invite!  Wouldn’t you love to have your own private class?  I’d LOVE to do one for you and your friends!

This card is easy and fun!  I took a piece of the Delicate Details Lace Tape and stuck it to the bottom of the card front.  Then I took a sponge dauber and rubbed Lucky Limeade ink over the tape.  Once you remove the tape you have this great masked image!  FUN!  The designer paper is from the Tea for Two pack and the sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set.  Add a flower from the 5/8″ Flower Trim as well as some Rhinestone Jewels and your card is done!

I need to finish up getting ready for today’s private class.  Contact me today and let’s schedule yours!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Easy Best of Flowers

008Have you checked out the special stamp sets that Stampin’ Up! is coming out with each month to help celebrate their 25th Anniversary?  I love the stamp sets.  Each month they are bringing back some favorite stamps from the past for that month’s theme.  Along with the chosen stamps from the past is one brand new stamp that goes with that theme.  January was “Best of Birthdays”.  February was “Best of Love”.  March was “Best of Flowers” and this month’s theme is “Best of Butterflies”.  I can’t wait to see what the next 8 month’s hold!  If you want to check out these fun stamp sets just click here and you’ll be taken to my Stampin’ Up! website.  Try to see if you know which retired stamp sets some of these stamps are from!

On this card I used the new stamp from the “Best of Flowers” stamp set.  It’s a cute little daisy that perfectly fits in the 1 1/4″ Scallop Circle Punch!  I love when things go together like that!  This cute chevron paper is from the Sunshine & Sprinkles Designer Series Paper pack in the Spring Catalog.

Don’t you love EASY?!  I’m using this card next week for a class with some beginner stampers.  I hope they like it!  Have a great day!  Take care and Happy stamping!

Summer Silhouettes

010
Summer Silhouettes

Hello!  I’m SO excited!  I’m in Salt Lake City today for a Stampin’ Up! regional event and a sneak peek at the new catalog!  Yep…..the 2013-2014 Catalog.  I can’t wait!  It should be a lot of fun and best of all I’m here with my buddy Laura!  We have so much fun together!

Today’s card is my swap card for this event.  We also made it in classes this week.  I saw this fun color combination on Pinterest and just had to copy it. Isn’t it a great combination?  The Pool Party and Early Espresso look so good together!  This might be a new favorite color combination.  Of course, with the Color Refresh that’s coming it might not be my favorite for long!  Ha!  This is my first time using the “Summer Silhouettes” stamp set.  Isn’t it fun?  You’ll definitely be seeing more of this one!

Have a great day.  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Swallowtail

Swallowtail.0313Well, I just discovered that I never actually posted this beautiful card.  Yikes!  I wrote up the post but never published it!  It was suppose to have posted a month ago.  I guess I need to keep better track of things!  Here’s what I wrote back on March 14th that you never got to read:

A beautiful spring card for a beautiful spring day!  The high today is suppose to be in the mid 60’s and it’s only the middle of March!  I LOVE it!  😀

My inspiration for this card is straight out of the Spring Catalog.  I just changed up the colors a little.

I embossed the butterfly with the new Pool Party Embossing Powder and then I “painted” the butterfly with the Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint and an aquapainter.  Simple and Stunning!   Don’t you love learning new techniques?

It’s time to go enjoy this beautiful day!  Have a great day.  Take care and Happy Stamping!  Ha!  The weather was nicer in the middle of March than the middle of April!  We had more snow this week and it’s been COLD!  Brrr!

Oh, Hello Flower Trim

Oh, Hello.0413Oh, Hello!  My blog is back in business.  I haven’t been able to post recently because my blog has been down.  I couldn’t log into it to update but all is well now.   I saw this card on Pinterest a while ago and have been wanting to CASE (copy and steal everything) it for some time.  I finally made it and now we’re making it in classes this week.

My two favorite parts of this card are the Delicate Details Lace Tape and the 5/8″ Flower Trim.  I love the fact that you can color the Flower Trim.  You can either highlight the edges with your marker like I did on this card or you can actually dye the flowers in a mixture of water and re-inker.  How fun is that? 😀  The doily really adds a lot to the card too.  So many fun embellishments and they’re all from the Spring Catalog!

Yesterday I registered for the Stampin’ Up! Convention to be held in July!  Woo Hoo!  I can’t wait!  It should be a lot of fun because this year is their 25th Anniversary.  Did I say Woo Hoo yet?  Convention is one the great parts of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator.  Did you know that now until May 30th you can receive an extra $30 of product in your Starter Kit if you sign up to be a demonstrator.  What a deal!  $150 worth of product for only $99!  Wow!  Let me know if you’d like more information on this GREAT opportunity!

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

By The Tide Reverse Masking

002It was a bit chilly here in Colorado yesterday so I thought I needed something that made me think “WARM!  Our BIG snowstorm was kind of a bust but it did get cold.

This “warm” card was made using the “By The Tide” stamp set from the Spring Catalog.  I made this card at a team Shoebox Swap a few months ago.  We used the Reverse Masking technique on it.  We used one of the Oval Framelits and die cut an oval in a piece of card stock.  We laid it over the piece of Whisper White card stock and then sponged Marina Mist ink into the oval.  Then we stamped the seaweed into the sponged oval.  The final touch was to use the Occasions Paper Piercing Pack to pierce holes all around the sponged oval.

It’s not a difficult card but I do have to admit I messed it up big time the night we were making it.  Someone (and I won’t mention any names, Cindy) managed to sponge and pierce her oval right on the card front.  It did look fine but the Marina Mist border does add something to the card and brings out the sponging.

Have a warm day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Designer Type Birthday

006Do you have any birthdays coming up that you need cards for?  Here’s a fun card for you!  I used the new Designer Type Photopolymer Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up!.  Here’s what Stampin’ Up! has to say about these fun new stamps:

“Our top-quality photopolymer has just enough give to create a perfectly stamped image every time and with the introduction of our firm-foam pads, let’s just say they’re meant for each other! Photopolymer stamps will also be unique, fun designs that will inspire you and provide more versatile options you may not see in our traditional wood- and clear-mount stamp options.”

“What makes them so great?

  • They’re entirely transparent for perfect placement every time!
  • They are durable. The photopolymer material is designed to last.
  • Can you say sticky? (Don’t worry; in a good way.) These stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks.
  • They’re age tested. They won’t yellow or cloud up over time.
  • We could go on, but we’ll let you try them for yourself.

They are clearly a great choice.”

The photopolymer stamps are fun to play with and it is easy to see what you’re doing.  They bend too.  This pennant stamp comes as a straight line but you can curve it when you place it on the clear block.  It is easy to place the little letters and numbers in the pennant.  You should try playing with these stamps.  They’re FUN!  😀

Click here to find out more about these fun new stamps and to see all of the designs included in this new stamp set.

Have a great day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Wishes Your Way Pinwheel

Pinwheel.0413Aren’t pinwheels fun?  Here’s a fun one made with the adorable Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Paper and to set it all off is the really cute Melon Mambo 3/8″ Striped Organdy Ribbon!  How could I go wrong with this card when I was using my favorite color?  MELON MAMBO!!  I’m SO glad that this color is sticking around when the Stampin’ Up! colors get refreshed!  I can’t wait to try it with the new Smokey Slate or reacquaint it with Bermuda Bay.  Those two colors work so well together.

This card just shouts SPRING and we definitely need that!  We could get 6″-12″ of SNOW tonight and tomorrow.  🙁  The worse part about it is that hubby is out of town and I’ll have to shovel it all myself!   I’ll let you know if that really happens though.  They haven’t predicted the last few storms accurately so we’ll see about this one!  Have a warm and dry day!  Take care and Happy Stamping!

Rain or Shine

Rain or Shine.0413Rain or Shine?  What’s your choice?  I do love a sunny day but we do need moisture here in Colorado so I think I need to choose rain.  I said rain….not snow!  It’s April and I’m kind of over snow but of course the weatherman is predicting snow in the next few days.  I guess that’s part of living in beautiful Colorado!  Anyway, enough of the weather!  Let’s take a look at this cute card!

The first thing you should notice is that I could have shown you this card last month during “What Can You Do With A Circle?” month.  I just love the way this technique highlights the stamped image.  Isn’t it fun?  My piece of Real Red Card Stock is only 2 1/4″ wide.  After I ran it through the Big Shot I used the 2 1/2″ Circle Punch to punch the circle.  This way it “cuts” the card stock in two pieces.    I also used another circle technique on this card.  I used the 1 3/8″ Circle Punch to round the two corners.  Gotta love those circle punches!

Have a great day and Happy Stamping!

P.S.  Don’t forget about the FREE Shipping through tomorrow!!!

Sent With Love

Sent With Love.1I finally got out my Sent With Love Bundle and started playing.  I CASEd this card right from Pinterest.  Are you a Pinterest addict?  I know I am.  I try to limit myself to checking it only a couple times a week unless I’m looking for something specific.  In this case I was looking for cards made with the Sent With Love stamp set so I just did a search on that.  Great stuff!

What a fun card!  I’m so glad that both of the colors on this card, Island Indigo and Calypso Coral, will be staying around.  Did you check out yesterday’s post about the Color Refresh?  If you haven’t yet, you better do it!  🙂

This Sent With Love Bundle is only availble through the end of this month so be sure to check out the details here.  It’s a fun stamp set with fun designer paper to match.  Don’t miss out!
