The Gang’s All Meer

The Gang’s All Meer

Adorable! These little critters are TSC! (Too Stinkin’ Cute!) How can you not want to own this stamp set?! This stamp set is the very first one you see in Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-bration Brochure. Stampin’ Up! definitely knows how to grab your interest! I sure fell in love with these little guys. They were my very first Sale-a-bration choice…yep…you can choose this stamp for FREE with a qualifying order during Sale-a-bration!

The Gang’s All Meer

Check out this adorable and easy card that we made in my classes recently. The most difficult part of the card was cutting out the little hat and that wasn’t bad at all! The fun background is made using one of the stamps from the Birthday Backgrounds stamp set which is found in the Annual Catalog. This time of year it’s hard to remember that there are still tons of amazing stamp sets in the Annual Catalog….we get caught up with all of the new products that have come out in the Mini Catalog and the Sale-a-bration Brochure!

Dimensions: Thick Whisper White cardstock for card base: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Lovely Lipstick: 5 1/4″ x 4″, 2 3/4″ x 3 1/4″ Whisper White: 2 1/2″ x 3″, scrap for hat Crumb Cake: 5″ x 3 3/4″ Ribbon: 3 3/4″, 4″

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Poppies, Poppies, Everywhere!

Poppies are popping everywhere these days! Check out the photo below….I was at the party store and saw these cute plates and napkins. I just got on the Amazon website and searched for poppies. I found poppy everthing! Scarfs, glassware, sheets, shower curtains, pillows, peel-and-stick wall decor….the list goes on. Poppies are BIG now!

Poppies!

If you don’t believe me that poppies are “in” now, you haven’t checked out the front of your 2020 Mini Catalog!

2020 Mini Catalog

Look at all of those poppies! Aren’t they gorgeous?! Check out the Peaceful Poppies Suite starting on page 24 of the Mini Catalog. Look at all of those fantastic products!

So many fabulous products! Two stamp sets, two sets of dies, GORGEOUS designer series paper, sequins, ribbon and die-cut elements! WOW! You really do have to check out the paper. It’s amazing!

Painted Poppies

I played with this suite just a little bit after the holidays and made some fun and simple cards. Here’s one of them. I stamped card front with the poppy outline in the Poppy Parade ink. I stamped my focal point of many poppies twice on the Whisper White card stock. I colored the poppies with my Dark Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blend, layered the stamped image and adhered it to the front of my card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Easy Peasy!

This suite of products is definitely going to get a lot of use! Have you ordered yours yet? If not, you can head right on over to my online store and order it today! 🙂

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Let’s Organize!

January is all about making goals and trying to improve things in our lives. One of my (many) goals this year is organization. I try, but it doesn’t always happen because I’m so messy! Yes. I hate to admit but I can be a slob. It’s time to make a change and 2020 is the year to do just that! Let’s get this ball rolling and get organized!

One step at a time, right? My whole house needs organization but we’re going to focus in on my craft room. Let’s start small….say with how I store my Stampin’ Blends Markers.

Stampin’ Blends Storage by Stampin’ Up!

I love my Stampin’ Blends Markers and I love my Storage by Stampin’ Up! for my Blends. The Blends fits perfectly and it’s easy to organize whichever way you want in the storage unit. I’ve grouped mine by color family and then alphabetically in each color family.

Now you’re wondering why I’m talking about changing things up and getting organized if I’m using this great little storage unit. Well, it’s because as a demonstrator, I usually have more than one set of markers. This is because if I have a large class or my group is holding a Stamp Camp I sometimes need duplicates.

I found a little plastic drawer unit when I was cleaning out a closet one day and have been using that but there’s no organization to it. If I’m looking for a specific color I have to go through all the markers in the little drawers to find the color I’m looking for. So it was time to get organized.

Stamp Case

Even though Stampin’ Up! doesn’t carry wood block stamps any more (except for background stamps), you can still purchase the stamp cases and they are great for storage! Yes! This is what I’m using to store my duplicate Stampin’ Blends!

Stampin’ Blends Storage

I’ve used the Full Wide Stamp Cases. You can easily fit 14 markers in a case. I was debating on whether to use my label maker to label the case but decided to make some labels with my computer that slip perfectly into the plastic sleeve cover. And guess what….I’ve saved the file so if you’d like to organize your Stampin’ Blends like this and would like a copy of the file just email me at cindy@stampbystampcreations.com. I’d be happy to share! My labels group the markers by generic color: blue, green, purple, pink, orange, red, yellow and neutral. Of course the beauty of a Word file is that you could keep the size and change the description! I love technology! 🙂

An important thing to keep in mind is that you will want to keep the cases flat as you seen in the above photo so the ink stays evenly distributed in the marker!

I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s organization tip. Please leave a comment below and let me know! Thanks! Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Another Heartfelt Valentine

When a new catalog comes out I usually host a Card Swap for some of my fellow demonstrators. Last week my 2020 Mini Catalog and Sale-a-bration Swap cards were due and I received 18 fun and fabulous cards.

There’s still time to work on your Valentine’s Day projects so I want to make sure you get plenty of inspiration! Today’s card was one of the swaps I received. It was from fellow demonstrator Lisa Van Goor. I love how Lisa used so many of the fun products in the From My Heart Suite. She used the stamp set, the designer paper, the ribbon, the doilies and the punches. That’s five out of the 7 products! Wow!

I love fun fold cards. Isn’t this one unique? The front of the card isn’t one sheet of cardstock. The focal point with all the hearts connects the top and the bottom of the front. Too fun!

Since we’re talking valentines here I was wondering what your favorite valentine color was. Pink? Or red? Pink is my favorite color but for valentines I’m going to have to go with red. Which you do prefer? Leave me a comment and let me know!

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Hearts and Paper Pumpkin

January 2020 Paper Pumpkin

On Friday I received my January Paper Pumpkin kit. Usually when I receive my kits they go on the shelf with all of my other Paper Pumpkin kits…I’m a collector. Ha! This month though, I decided to actually sit down and work on my kit. What a concept!

Check out these adorable projects that can be made with this kit. It’s hard to see in the upper right corner but the instruction sheet tells you that the kit will make 10 little 3″ x 3″ cards and 20 little treat bags. Wow!

Now, some of you are probably saying that you don’t need little cards or little treat bags. That’s what I was thinking….at first.

I started my crafting by making one of the little cards and one of the little bags according to the directions as you can see in the first picture below. Then I took what I originally made and made them into full size cards (second photo). In the third photo I’ve made the original projects into note cards.

After these changes I made more cards trying to keep things pretty basic. I didn’t want to get too carried away.

Since I didn’t need any little treat bags I was going to continue making full size cards with the remaining products in the kit. Then I had an epiphany! I would make little thank you treats and hand them out in the weeks leading up to Valentines Day. Waiters, cashiers, etc.. Just a little thank you for something nice someone does. Did you know that a Ghirardelli chocolate fits in the little bags perfectly? Now I just need to pick some up and fill my cute little treat bags!

I had a lot of fun with my January 2020 Paper Pumpkin kit and can’t wait for February’s! I’ve already been given a hint that it will coordinate with the Happy Birthday to You Stamp Set in the Sale-a-bration Brochure! I love these little teasers!

If you’d like to have as much fun as I had with a Paper Pumpkin kit you should sign up to receive these monthly kits. As you can tell from this kit, they’re not all full size cards, but many of the kits are. From my post here, you can also see that when a kit isn’t full size cards, it’s not hard to make to pieces and parts you receive into full size cards with a little extra cardstock.

You can check out the Paper Pumpkin website and sign up today! Give it a try! I think you’ll enjoy receiving this monthly kit in the mail!

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Throwback Thursday: Oh, Whale!

It’s Throwback Thursday and I’ve been sharing valentine cards with you this week so of course today I had to share an old valentine with you!

Who remembers this stamp set? It’s from way back in 2013! Wow! That’s a long time ago! The stamp set was called Oh, Whale! It was one of my favorites at the time. The coordinating die was the Happy Whale Clearlit. I can’t even remember what a Clearlit was! Ha!

If you want to take a look at one of my blog posts from way back then you can find the post for this card here. Don’t get too excited…it was very uninformative!

It’s fun to look back at old projects and old blog posts to see how far things have progressed. Although, by looking at this card I can see that I still like lots of layers on a card and that I still use this layout…alot! Ha!

How has your stamping journey progressed? Do you still like some of the same things or has your style changed drastically? I’d love to hear…even better share a few before/after pictures with me! You can either email me at cindy@stampbystampcreations.com or leave a comment below.

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Celebrate With Cake Valentine

Celebrate With Cake

Today’s card is another one of the cards that we’re making in classes this week. Not only is this card cute and easy, but it’s versatile! You can make it a birthday card, get well card, a valentine, or almost anything. All you need to do is change the inside sentiment of the card!

If you’ve looked through your Annual Catalog and your 2020 Mini Catalog for this stamp set you probably didn’t find it. This stamp set is exclusive to Stampin’ Up!’s Beginner Brochure. This is a brochure designed specifically for those new to stamping. But just because it’s designed for new stampers doesn’t mean that those of us with a little more experience can’t enjoy the items in it too. Check it out. There are some cute items in it like this Celebrate With Cake stamp set.

Celebrate With Cake Stamp Set

My card is a little more advanced only because I used a die-cutting machine to emboss the background and I fussy cut the mail box after stamping it in two different colors. Oh…and don’t forget the millions of layers I used on the card…a beginner stamper may want to use just a single layer…at least to start with! 😀

Here are the dimensions for this card: Thick Whisper White cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Real Red: 5″ x 3 3/4″, 2 1/4″ x 2 3/4″ Soft Suede: 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″ Whisper White: 2″ x 2 1/2″ Ribbon: 5 3/4″, 4″

You can see all of the products that I used on this card below this post. I hope you have a fabulous day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

My Own Heartfelt Card

The From My Heart Suite is SO fun to play with! This card that I’m sharing with you today is one we’re making in class. I was able to use the stamp set, the heart punches, the ribbon and the designer paper on the card.

From My Heart Card

I love how you can punch out the hearts from the designer paper with the two punches from the Heart Punch Pack (scallop edge and straight edge). The two hearts make the perfect focal point for your card.

My card is kind of two cards in one. Check out the photos below and you can see that my punched heart focal point could actually be a small card on it’s own! How fun is that?!

Here are the dimensions for my card: Thick Whisper White cardstock: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ (scored at 4 1/4″ Real Red cardstock: 5 1/4″ x 4″, 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″ Whisper White cardstock: 5″ x 2 1/2″ (scored at 2 1/2″) Designer Paper: 5″ x 3 3/4″ Ribbon: 4 1/2″, 4″

If you haven’t purchased the From My Heart Suite or at least some of the fun products found in it, get that order in! Valentines Day is only a month away! Yikes!

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Music From the Heart

Music From the Heart

Once I saw this stamp set in the new Mini Catalog I knew it was the first stamp set I had to buy. I LOVE it! Music is in my soul. I’ve sung in the church choir forever and I’m on my second year of playing in the bell choir. I’ve taken piano lessons and played the flute, oboe and tenor saxophone in junior high and high school. Yes, music is in my soul.

This stamp set was inspired by Million Sales Achiever Dawn Olchefske and you can find it on page 57 of the new Mini Catalog.

I CASED this idea straight from Dawn. She had made simple note cards with her stamp set and this birthday idea was one of them. I just made it into a full-sized card!

Thick Whisper White Cardstock: 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Basic Black Cardstock: 5″x 3 3/4″ Whisper White Cardstock: 4 3/4″ x 3 1/2″

I stamped the music staff first, then the treble clef sign. If you can read music you’ll know that the notes that are stamped on the card are the tune to “Happy Birthday”! Thanks Dawn for figuring that out for me! 😀

I just love this card. So easy! I’m going to make a bunch for our choir director. Thank you Dawn for one of my favorite stamp sets ever!

Have a great day! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Happy New Decade! Happy 2020!

I hope everyone had a wonderful New Year’s Eve last night! We celebrated in MN. Both of our families are here so after our kids leave after Christmas, hubby and I head for the great northern Homeland. Unfortunately, we had to delay our trip by a day due to weather which caused me to miss a few gatherings I had scheduled. Oh, well.

Hubby’s family traditionally get’s together, kid’s and all, on New Year’s Eve. It’s a wild and crazy evening since there are 22 grandkids ranging in age from 6 to 32, although only 15 of them were here last night. Then you need to add in the 13 older adults! It’s a house full, that’s for sure!

We ate food, drank beverages, played games and chatted a lot! It’s quite the evening, that’s for sure! Needless to say, I’m a bit tired today.

What do you have planned for 2020? Have you made any resolutions or goals for the new year? There are a lot of things I would like to accomplish in this new year so I just need to buckle down and get to work!

I wish you all love, joy and peace in the coming year! Take care and Happy Stamping!

Birds of a Feather Thanksgiving

Birds of a Feather Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving! Don’t you just love this little turkey from the Birds of a Feather stamp set? These birds are absolutely ADORABLE! There’s a turkey for Thanksgiving, a chick with a Santa hat for Christmas, a duck in a pirate costume for Halloween and a chicken with a heart for Valentines Day. Birds of a Feather is the perfect stamp set for all of your holiday needs! 😀

I stamped the turkey with Memento Tuxedo Black ink ad then colored him in with my Stampin’ Blends Markers. Easy and fun! The designer paper is from the Come to Gather Designer Paper pack in the Holiday Catalog.

Sorry that I didn’t post this early so that you could make this adorable card to send for this Thanksgiving this year, but there’s always next year, right? Ha!

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
